I'm about ready to submit a checklist for a really old card set and I have a couple questions.
First, with regards to the number of cards in the set, does one count alternates? In this case it's a "25 card set" but four cards have alternates. So is it a 29 card set?
Second, one of the cards has the wrong last name for the player. It should be "Schmidt", but the card says "Smith'. In the checklist do I list him as Schmidt or Smith?

You don't actually have to input the number of cards as you add the checklist, you can actually leave that blank and the system will take care of it at import time.
As to the name discrepancy, the way I have handled those is to add a UER to the Note field, and after the import, go back and add the details to the Note 2 field.
I've been asking that the import system be expanded to accomodate a single file that includes all possible fields (CardNum, Name, Team, Affiliate, Note, Note2), but that has not yet been addressed. As it is, you sort of have to choose which fields to populate on import and then go back and fix the rest by hand after the import.
Does that help at all?

Yep. I won't worry about the number of cards and on the checklist I'll list Schmidt as his name appears on the card (Smith) and note it as a UER in the Note field. That should work. Thanks.

I'm just a newbie here but, if it were me, I would list his true name and then mark it as an UER showing the name as it was printed on the card. That way it would be easier to find under his real name.
That's how this card appears to have been entered.

Right, I agree. The player indexing keys off what is in the Name field, so that needs to be accurate. OR, it can be linked to the proper player ID later.

I'll be taking care of all the Star Company stuff - eventually. I've started on 1992. Working my way backwards through time.

All of the Yankees Photo Albums have been added. The 1981 Sounds set is in there, but I really don't think the site is going to support populating player names for team photos. I may be wrong, but I'll leave that up to the great Admin. I'll try to get the 1987 Baseball Cards Magazine Repli-Cards added this evening.
