So I was finally able to find the elusive 2017-18 Prizm NBA release at Target earlier this evening.  I bought 6 rack packs because I figured I might not see them again.  Anyways, I like the set, but I feel like last year’s was much better.  Also, they decided to include coaches to the checklist.  I find that kinda lame for a set that I consider higher end.  You only get 4 cards in a pack so I feel like having coaches included is a little silly.  That should be something they reserve for Hoops or Complete.  I ended up getting 2 parallels of Mike Dantoni. 

Well I’m glad I was able to find them and while I got some cool cards, I’m a little underwhelmed.  Especially since this set has a huge price tag this year and is difficult to find. I probably won’t be getting any more of this set this year. 

Boxseat Collectables in Ahwatukee Phoenix has singles for sale. Might pick up the James Harden base card from them.

Im glad they have coaches, but they should have been in Hoops. Which coach do they have for the Suns? 

For what it's worth, Panini considers Prizm a low end set.

I haven’t heard of that shop before, but then again I’m up in north Phoenix.  I’ve noticed there are a lot of card shops more to the south of me. I’m lucky a really cool shop opened at 32nd st and Thunderbird that’s really close.  

The coach this set has for the Suns is Earl Watson.  I really didn’t like him as coach and was glad they fired him.  Jay Triano seems okay, but there isn’t much you can do with such little NBA ready talent.  It’s been particularly brutal recently with Devin Booker injured.  Hopefully he is back soon. 

And yeah Prizm I know is considered low end by Panini, but since I will probably never buy any of their actual high end products, Prizm is the top for me.  Anything over 100 for a hobby box is high end to me haha. 

I agree that a smaller set with 4-card packs shouldn't have coaches. Hoops and Complete ABSOLUTELY SHOULD have coaches.  I haven't seen these for sale yet either.  Wal-Mart is my only option unless I leave town though, and mine does little basketball and zero hockey/soccer.
