If you're refering to me Jimmymak, I have Chipper on my list of yes votes. He's right between Billy Wagner and Jim Thome.

I think that the baseball writers actually asked the HOF to make the ballots public, but the Hall declined. A lot of the writers do tell, and there seems to be a website that tracks the info to give possible spoilers.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

My computer was set on making me look like a jerk, but this is the only part of your previous post that showed on my screen. I thought you were jokingly mocking the HOF system for MLB by listing your yes votes and leaving it blank lol

I think football's Hall of Fame committee has a much better style than baseball. They announce an initial list of up to 180 players at the end of the regular season, they will then narrow that list down to 15 "finalists". After that, they narrow the list down further before actually voting to between 5 and 10 players. Then, instead of having to be named in the top 10 by a certain percent of voters, they are all voted on in a yes or no vote, with X number of yes votes required to be elected. I think that could really help clear up the backlog in baseball's ballots right now.
So, based on that format, my yes votes would be for...
1.

The MLB Network has the HOF's on Staff during the "Intentional Talk" segment i thinks the right airing title. A BIG MOVER NOW IS - SCOTT ROLEN - !!! He's coming up fast BUT - Chipper is Leading the Charge as the Top Pick to be inducted into the HOF, he's got a early average of 85%+ of votes. I personally think he's deserving of it too. Stayed with Braves, broke records and was as lethal on defense as he was batting. He s a "No Brainer" and first ballot entry for me. As for the others, it's a shame that some have been on it 6yrs and own records that won't be broken unless MLB rigs the games to Pad Stats like NBA does. I started this thread and I'm glad I did bcz there are a lot of great convos in here about the game! Thanks to all for participating as well! Have a blessed weekend ahead!!

Bamaman, slightly off topic, but would you consider shortening your forum signature? Possibly moving most of that info to your profile page, where people would still be able to see it if they clicked on your name? That is where most people keep that sort of information. It's just a lot to have to scroll past everytime you post, to get to what the next person says. Especially for those of us who use the site with a phone or tablet, and have to scroll with our finger and not a mouse. I ask this in the nicest way I know how, not trying to be a "bully" or a "hot head". Please just consider it.

Ditto. Could not think of a way to say it without sounding negative. Scrolling through it repeatedly is tiresome, especially when you post several times in a discussion.

I held off on this until I did my yearly blog on it. Among the 30 or so names, half were cut almost instantly. So only 15 were considered and about 6-8 were locks, with the last 2 being interchangeable but I added them so they could hopefully get elected to clear up space for others. Anyways, here is my list.
Johnny Damon
Chipper Jones
Jim Thome
Manny Ramirez
Curt Schilling
Mike Mussina
Barry Bonds
Roger Clemens
Vladimir Guerrero
Edgar Martinez
Edgar and Vlad (and even Chipper to be honest) could have been replaced but made it because if they go in this year, it could clear up space for others. Bonds and Clemens are on my list every year and so is Schilling. Mussina was added this year after other bloggers convinced me that he is Hall worthy. Thome and Manny will be on my ballot yearly like Bonds until elected. Damon is one of my favorite players of all time and was no doubt on my list. Though in my blog I explain many reasons why he should be considered. I'm not saying he should have 90% of the votes, but I believe he is being overlooked by most people. Some say he has a lot of stats do to longevity, but its more than that. He's ranked in the top 100 in career stats in many categories and overall that adds up. Even using something like WAR (which I hate) he still has a 56.4 I think. Using Bill James and other theories on Baseball Reference he is a borderline candidate at best, and if so, I'm fine with that. However failing to get the 5% needed to stay on the ballot would be a travesty. he was maybe 1-2 good years away from 3000 hits, and at that point even then some would say he wasn't Hall worthy, so it is what it is.
We'll see what happens soon, but for the life of me, I can't see how a guy like Vizquel can stay on the ballot, but a guy like Damon falls.

Very insightful and I became injured, or acquired many of them during the 03 to 10 era (( lots of therapy and rehab and no real fans to watch with alone etc plus in BAMA we have 1 sport 365 and thats the Crimson Tide)) nd I have Johnny Damon cards out the wazoo in my collection that I didn't realize I had until recently. Many RC's. Your list is what I think I had too. Chipper is the definition of Baseball to many fans so I like him going in as highest percentage really. Outside of that my list is the 1st one bcz I started the thread. Thanks for sharing!
