Hi Everyone,

I am fairly new to this site, just signed up at the begining of the year. So far I am really enjoying the site and thanks to all the people who maintain it.

I had a question regarding the information of a card. Some cards do not list the team that the player is from. How do you go about filling that in. Is it something I am able to do as a regular member? Or do I have to send someone a message?

welcome to the site, If you scroll to the bottom and look on the left hand side under the account heading you will see a selection called permissions. Click this and it will tell you what you need to do to be able to edit the site.

Welcome to the site. Glad you're enjoying it, so far. Except for the Admin, we're all just "regular members." (Some more regular than others, perhaps...)

Mbarlow gave you good info for editing. I'll just add that, if there's some action you think should be taken but you don't yet have permission to do, you can always ask the Admin, either by clicking on "report an inaccuracy" on the relevant page, or by just emailing Him. He's terribly responsive, efficient, and tolerant, in my experience. That said, adding teams is something more likely done by us regular members.

I echo the welcome you have received.  AndI most appreciate that already you have seen where you can help.  Unfortunately, many player cards lack the team information. If every time you see one of these, you can identify and enter the team, so much the better.  Just understand the rules onwhich team to tie the card to. If you are unsure, ask in this forum.  Many will offer you an answer.

You've already been given some great advice. The only thing I'll add is that if you use the "report an inaccuracy" link that is found on all set and card pages, more people than just Admin can see that and can help (usually faster). If you send a message just to Admin, it may take a while, as they are bombarded with messages and other things (keeping the site running smoothly, fighting SPAM attacks, making improvements, and handling the items in the inaccuracy reports that only can be handled by Admin).

Updating Teams is one of the first things a member here can do, but there are some specific guidelines that Admin wants us to follow. Please be sure to take the little quizzes to gain access seriously, and you'll be up and running here in no time. Thanks for helping out!

I have to double-up what Dan (vrooomed) said in his post though. PLZ pay attention to the rules as you take the tests for the permissions. They aren't hard, but they are specific and that's what we all need to abid by to make the site run smoothly. As long as the guidelines are followed, everyone here will be very happy about any contribution you make to the site. I, personally, think team names are very important to this site and still can't believe that there are so many missing from the DB in any sport. But I also know that wasn't an option earlier in the history of the site. Heck, team names for Racing cards wasn't added as an option until almost a year ago. This site is fluid and constantly changes. The best we can do is to change with it and help in any way possible. I hope you will be another member willing to get everything correct on here.
