This is just an informal poll to see who among us buys those repackaged cards you see in department stores. I was just in Target where they had a "Card Cube" of 250 cards for $10. They also had a box with ten packs of cards in it, but I couldn't determine the price. These repackages obviously woudn't fit in with any specific collection I'm putting together since I don't know what year or brand of card I'd be getting, but I'm tempted to buy one just to see what's inside. Who out there has bought these and are they worth taking the leap?

I occassionally buy the cheap repacks from Dollar Tree. Mostly junk wax error cards but sometimes a few 70s cards mixed in and sometimes newer cards such as subset cards or refractors etc. Cool to get the occassional card I havent seen before and I dont mind junk wax since i plan on starting TTMs in the near future

Same here, I've
bought a few from
the Dollar Tree, I
might get a late
70's to early 80's
card which is cool.
Problem? Too many
kids get their
hands on them and
the corners are
bent within a week
which makes me sick!

TTMs? (Sorry, I googled it and couldn't find a suitable definition.)

I used to buy the boxes at K-Mart when they were something like 12 packs for $9.99. But then they slowly made their way down to 8 packs for $9.99 and I lost interest. Pulled some $20 Jeter in one of them once, which I managed to unload on Sportlots. In lots of cases, the only packs I opened for sets from about 1995-2012 are from those kinds of packages. I don't usually bother with the overpriced repacks of individual cards since the prices rose so much.

I buy those on occasion because I don't necessarily collect just one set. I like the variety of cards I get and I also get cards from collections I would never had bought packs of in the past. Plus, some times you get those cards that are cool. I only buy those repacks though that offer some sort of autograph/relic card which means I am paying $19.99 for the pack, but I get some neat cards from them.

I bought one that included a factory set (one of the cheap 110 card traded or update sets) just because I wanted that set. Don't remember what else was in it. Late 80s singles, I imagine. I occasionally buy the mixed box of 12 or whatever number wrestling packs. I did get one memorabilia card that way once from a set I had never collected. Otherwise, lots of packs of the WWE card game, which I don't enjoy.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I actually buy those frequently at my local Target. It's just a cheap way to add cards to your collection. Nothing major in those XX cards for $10, but the 10 pack boxes I've had a few decent hits. You probably won't hit paydirt, but they're still fun. I find the baseball ones are a better value than the hockey ones.
