I would like to extend a thank you for the work done by CrazieJoe in the advancement of a non-sport category, Magic the Gathering. 

Recently, I decided to gather and sort my son's collection of MTG cards that he left behind in his room.  To gather information on these (not easy cards to sort without a reference), I searched here first.  When I began to find the sets, I noticed that the majority of the set checklists had been entered by CrazieJoe. Though he did not upload very many images (I think only of cards he actually owned), he took the time to enter as many of the checklists that were missing.  He could have sat at his computer and loaded every back image in every set just to accumulate points. He might have even crossed 600,000 points or maybe even a million if he persisted.  But obviously points is not his goal; contributing to the site is and should be all of our goals, in every small way we can.

As this very large "body" of sets and cards (1993-present, 3-4 sets / yr with parallels, sometimes more) is relatively new on this site, and that these cards are different than normal sports cards, there is still many decisions to be made (by Admin) on how these cards will be identified in PIDs.  I hope to put forward some recommendations to Admin soon on my thoughts but here, I wish to bring recognition to a contributing member we rarely hear from.  CrazieJoe, thanks from all of us, and especially MTG card collectors. 

By the way, for those of you who are not familiar with MTG, there is actually a very large world-wide group who are into these cards.  Like all of us who found this site because we googled a card, we may see many new members come in who collect MTG for the same reason that we did on our sports cards.

He's a good guy who writes a fine card blog as well. He posts every day, for more than a year now, not an easy task. 

Thanks for the nod of appreciation, but I am just glad to have found somewhere I could add to the site given how great it is (and a thank you is deserved for everyone who has added in whatever way they can, or even just become a great part of the site community). Finding this site a few years ago is what really drove me back into collecting again.

As far as the Magic sets go - if I have a card from the set I add it. I know there are some sets/duel decks I haven't been able to get around to for uploading a checklist, but if no one beats me to it - it's on the list of "to do" items for me. As are scanning the cards I do have. I have scanned a few, but have many that I can add, I just prefer keeping up with the blog and getting new cards cataloged for now, but plan on scanning through and adding what I can starting later this year.

For the card backs that are the same - I wonder if there is an easy function for admin to just add these if directed correctly (for example - cards 1-100 and 110-200 all have the same back) - just for the ease and spped of adding them (as you are correct, the points really don't matter - it's knowing what one has contributed).

Regarding the PIDs - do let me know where that resolves, and any other recommendations/resolutions with Admin. Frankly, I have barely scratched the surface on that part of the workings of the site. Checklists and scanning I can do (and am comfortable I won't screw up).

Anyway, back to my relative silence for now, but thank you again, and do let me know if you find anything I should correct or change going forward on set set lists, etc. :)

As far as "same backs".  I'm pretty sure it's easy for Admin to add the backs en masse for blocks of card numbers.  I know in the past I've asked it.  But I helped a little.  Using your example of 1-100 and 110-200 having same backs.  I would upload the back for card numbers 1 and 100; and 110 and 200. Then tell Admin to fill in the cards between.  Don't know if it actually made it easier for them or not.
