Today, I reported my first seller on eBay. His offense was not egregious. He had about three or four listings of 1956 baseball card lots with "HOF" in the title. None of the lots had hall of famers in them. To be honest, I wasn't searching by "HOF," so it really didn't affect me. But I sometimes point things out to sellers, usually helpfully correcting when they've gotten a year wrong or something. So I sent him a quick message, the entirely of which was, "Which of these players is in the hall of fame?" I then noticed a second, similar listing. So I sent another message: "Same question." I then noticed two or three other listings with the same problem.
He responded by asking if I had nothing better to do and attempting to call me a loser (with poor punctuation.) Now, sure, his counterpoints are valid, but they do not address that he was using what eBay calls "keyword manipulation," and is against their rules. Normally, I would have moved on with my life (I actually do have better things to do), but, because the unethical, not-too-smart, rule-breaking seller decided to try to insult me, I reported him. reclaimedvintagetreasures is his selling name, by the way.
So I was wondering if you ever reported someone to eBay (other than because of a transaction problem) and what it takes to make you do so. (And I was just vindictively sharing my story with you all)

I've seen some really rediculous horror stories about Ebay. I don't go on there too much, but I do have to wonder how some of these people get through daily life with how they write...as I have found most people write pretty much exactly as they are in person. (However, I am much more boring in person and much less vocalitive. Yes, I have been known to make up my own words. If Shakespeare can do it, so can I!)
I've never reported anyone to Ebay, I've never had a bad transaction on there. Of course, I average less than 10 a year, having been a member for 12 years and having around 115 feedbacks.
Edit: I looked at my ebay after posting this. I actually have 134 feedbacks. I joined on January 2nd, 2006, which helpfully ebay tells me, as I've changed my name on there. A little more active than I thought.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. He's got that ladies' suede trench coat with the retro belt though

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Also, the guy who allegedly shipped my cards in September, then again in december, has quit answering me. I will report him tonight if I can figure out how. I ended my first case against him, and can't figure out how to start a second one.

On a barely related topic....it bugs the heck out of me when people are selling one card but post a whole scanner tray full of them. What, are you too lazy to take literally 2 seconds and crop the image? I tend to avoid those sellers. If I was more of a jerk I'd give them a SNAD for only sending one card, but I have more important things to do, and then I would be somebody people say should be blocked. But they are losing any chance of getting my money.

I report a lot of sellers. Mainly the "Counterfeit" or "Authenticity Disclaimer" violations. What really gets me are the sellers who claim they have to put the disclaimer in the listing because it's ebay's rule.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I’m with you, Billy. Crop the image or just take another picture. But I had a whole eBay pet peeves thread months ago....

If he has something to sell for real cheap, you can purchase it just to leave negative feedback and then block him. There's nothing wrong with correcting an error. I do it when card years are wrong.
I still think Ebay is a great place to buy and sell. There are going to be A**holes everywhere.
