With the addition of multiple collections to this site, I think it's time to do a cleanse for me. Or something like that anyway.
When I first started adding my collection to this site, I only added a small box of cards that I offered FS/T, and my player collections wants and haves. Then I got a few boxes from my parent's house and started entering them, but never finished. Then I started putting together a few sets and mixed those in. Then I started adding some Reds cards, my autographs, and my MiLB team sets. Before I knew it, I've got a mess on my hands.
So, I'm going to do the only thing I can think of, and delete my collection to overhaul it. I've got way too many wants on here, way too few traders, and just a general mess going on.
The point of this thread is to let anyone who happens to notice that my collection is at 0 cards (or however many it may be at) that I'm not going anywhere, I'm not falling off the face of the earth, and I certainly didn't trade everything away. But I do need to do a better job at using the documentation tools this website provides, and that starts with deleting everything and starting fresh!
Plus, as I go along, I can create some lists that I wanted to, double check missing scans, and organize my wants much better. It'll take some time, but I'm looking forward to seeing where I'll be at in a month or so!

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

Yay! Glad to see someone else utilizing the multiple collections. It really can be useful!

I'm still on the fence on how to utilize the multiple collections feature. I don't like the separate accounts for Wants and Trades - some do, and that's okay with me. But, I am considering my Wants/Trades on one account, probably this one, Sportzcommish, and transferring my PC to others. I'm just not sure if that's the most efficient way to keep the collection as I'd be trading on one account, then eventually transferring those cards to the PCs.
Still doing inventory of that big purchase in New Jersey back in November and that's got me tied up to where I haven't really tried more than a cursory attempt at the multiple collections.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the multiple collections feature? Is it something just recently added to the site? From what commish described it seems like the same person can have multiple accounts, is that the jist of it?

I never even knew about the multiple collections feature. I'll have to check it out and see if it's something that might work better for me. I've considered deleting all my stuff and starting over, but I've been holding off on that until I get the actual cards organized, then I'll figure out the best way to get my online collection straightened out.

I believe it is a fairly new feature and to be honest, I don't even remember how I got to it. Dan seems to know plenty about it, as I remember he gave some great advice in a previous forum thread. He would be the one to ask for details.
But basically it allows you to list multiple collections on your profile. For example, I have my main collection (cards that don't fit any other collection), Reds, Autographs, Player Collection, Clinton MiLB, and Sets (you have the ability to name them).
Now instead of having all of my cards jumbled into one big collection, I have them broken up into separate collections. At least, that's the gist of it.

It is a recent addition, um, I'd say a few months back. There were some kinks that have since been fixed, I believe, but the functionality is there. Just go to the Collections page and you'll see the "Create Another Collection" button (green) down at the bottom of the page. It's really easy to do, I'm more concerned with how I'd want to use it.

Multiple Collections is the one BIG thing I have been asking for for quite awhile. The ability is now here to be able to break your entire collection up into segments, chapters, blocks ........ however you want to say it. I have personally started adding my collection now that is is available. I have my Ranford collection by itself, and I am now working on my OPC Base Set collection, will be adding my Inserts Collection next, then will go with Panini, UD and so on. The nice part is the site keeps them seperate for your use but also links them all togethor as one in the base Collections tab. It will show all cards in your collection, wantlist, For Trade/Sale, and so on. If your curious just click on my profile and check out my collection, I am sure you can see what I have been up to. Its bloody fantastic!!

Multiple Collections was announced on December 3, 2017.
This allows a member to have the same card for multiple reasons. And it allows you to count them all. So, for example, 1979 Topps - where I have the complete set, plus I have 1 of each Phillie, it now shows that I own the 726 (for the set) PLUS the 25 (or so) for the Phillies. Previously, it just showed that I had 726 cards. (Additionally, I have several of the HOFers, and ehen I get to all of theose, they will also count in my collection.)
There is also a setting to view "All Collections", so your wantlists can be combined to aid in printing it for going through cards, etc.
