Ok, the wife interjected in my card reorganization this evening and now there is a disagreement/silly debate on proper way to organize cards or basically anything which gets filed. I know silly debate and I'm sure it's all personal preference, but...
If organizing your cards in a storage box with the white card dividers with the players name on, do the cards for that player go in front of the white divider or back of the white divider?
That is the question!

Behind the white divider. Same as a file cabinet. Folders go behind the divider.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

In front of the divider. No question about it.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Well, I guess I am in the minority so far. I was putting the cards in front of the divider, she was like that makes no sense.
I think I just like seeing the cards and name in one? I don't know, was just liking that arrangement better for the cards with maybe no solid reasoning!
Though when it comes to general paperwork files in the cabinet I do have the divider and then paperwork for it behind. I seem to be inconsistentđŸ˜€

If she doesn't collect cards.... do it however you want to.

I have to agree with Splinter's remark, but I also agree with everyone else's remark that isn't David (sorry David). Cards should go behind the "label", not in front of it.
I put most of my cards in albums. When there are multiple years in that album, I put a Post-It note at the end of one year with the following year written on it. Random example - On the back of the last page of cards for 2008, I attach a Post-It note sticking out from the edge of the page that says 2009. Then I can grab that tab and pull it towards the front of the album and I'm at the first cards for 2009. I do the same in boxes, except that the note is attached to a blank cardboard insert.

Showing age here Like records albums If storing them behind, if showing them off like on a sales rack in front But at a card show the cards are always behind

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards
