I can't agree with any option put forth by members so far. There are too many options that would allow for easy scamming or for just screwing up your collection lists here.
I WOULD like to be able to withdraw from a trade after I counter it though! There can be many reasons that could come up. My first was with a trader over a year ago. He offered a trade, then I countered it with removing cards I had already traded and/or received and adding others on both sides. The member hasn't been back on the site since then. This was over a year ago! I contacted Admin about this a week ago to see how to remove that out of my "Proposed" section of trades. After 2 attempts, Admin got it removed from my list BUT it still counts in the number: EX. "Proposed (3)" when it should only say "Proposed (2)" right now. Even with a couple of trades moving from Proposed to In Progress and now to Completed and a couple new ones moving into Proposed, the number always shows as 1 more than I actually have going.
I believe this option has changed since that trade started, but I am still stuck with an extra number now. I think any Transaction without any type of reply/response after six months (for Composing, Offers, Proposed, In Progress) should automatically delete completely OR move to Declined or Withdrawn. I give it 6 months b/c I know I still have people on the hook for trades b/c I was trying to get all MLB cards added while holding the trades as reminders to get back to them ASAP. It hasn't taken 6 months for any so far, but I would be okay waiting that long for a trade for certain circumstances.
As for an "In Negotiation" status, I can't agree with that either. Then it feels like your card is locked up to someone who might never come through! If a better offer or bigger trade comes along, that card is off the table for that offer/trade. I work with this site the same as I do with all trading sites. It's generally first come, first serve. BUT if two people are chasing the same card in a trade, the bigger trade usually wins. I'd much rather trade 100 cards at once than I would to trade 5-10 cards in one trade. BUT if I've been talking to one person about a small trade for a little while and someone new pops in with a big offer, I go in order of who asked for it first.
Either way, I need to know what I have to trade and what I still need. That's why I have to take it slow on here. Same thing for Beckett and for other sites. I need to make sure there is no crossover b/t sites or even trades on the same site.
Also, I don't know why people don't want to mention Beckett. I am still a member there and I know many members here that I first talked to on there (including rmpaq5). Beckett can't do anything about this site and they can't punish you for being on other sites! I complain about them to their face on their own site all the time. (Plus, you aren't really "hiding" from them if you use the same name on other sites.) I'll come right out and say it: Beckett sucks and TCDB is the #1 card database on the planet!
NO PWE's EVER!!! PLZ PM me 1st before sending any offer. ONLY selling cards as of March 2024. No trades or purchases right now.
