Just curious as to how the Barry Sanders card #46 became the set picture without the card having been scanned to the set.

Card is incomplete. Scan was most likely reported and removed. New Sample should be requested.

I put in the request for the sample to be replaced. 

I've encountered that numerous times.I just assumed Admin used stock images (from sell sheets or wherever) for the sample images. 

Yes, have seen this many times before.  I was too lazy, probably more like didn't care, to mention it.

Admin...and only Admin...has the ability to post a sample image without the scan actually being posted. When I first started scanning in 2012 I came across at least a dozen sets that had a sample image but the card was not posted. I still came across a few as recently as December of last year when I was making my big push to get everything posted, where I uploaded the same card as the cover image years after it was posted.
