Just a reminder, when changing another Note (such as JSY) to MEM, please remember to add the appropriate description in Note2, e.g., MEM: Jersey. Otherwise, the information provided by the Site is degraded.

The problem with that is you have to do each one manually while you can change the whole set from JSY to MEM in one fell swoop on the insert sets.  It was my understanding that cards that are listed as JSY do not show up in the Memorabilia cards in your collection.  If a set already says Jersey in the title is it even necessary?  

A description of the memorabilia included in the card is never "required".

It is recommemnded when the materials used are different from card to card within the set.

It is definitely not needed when the name of the set is "xxx Jerseys xxx" and all the cards are jersey cards.

The idea is for any information being put in these fields to be useful and not redundant. If adding "MEM: Jersey" or just "Jersey" to Note2 does nothing to help clarify anything, then don't add it.

Dan is correct in noting that the main purpose of the Notes is to be informative and that "one size does not fit all."  However, problems arise when manufacturers don't provide accurate set names and other sites don't give correct descriptions. For example, there are sets with titles such as "Game Jerseys" that include only game-used jerseys, while other "Game Jerseys" sets include a mix of game-worn and player-worn jerseys and/or include other relics like pants or warm-ups, and a site like Beckett will call all of these JSY cards. This can cause confusion, especially if the cards are not pictured, and simply relying on the set name or other sites' descriptions can result in inaccuracies. Another option for identifying/describing the relic type(s) is to add an appropriate comment in the set's release notes, such as "Unless Note2 specifies otherwise, the MEM Note in this set refers to a Game-worn Jersey relic."
