I got another so ill be upgrading, thot i saved it but..

I updated my firefox recently, went to sign in here on firefox and got a warning that "This connection is not secure, log-ins entered here could be compromised"

Site does not have SSL, so I think any site you visit that does not have it will say that. Just means you shouldn't be submitting any personal information. Your password used here should be different than other sites. 

I get a similar message when using chrome unless I set my activity to private then I'm good. I did get the free spin crap again today on here while using my phone and when I was on my computer bouncing between here and ebay I got hit with one of those virus messages that usually spell doom but I ran a scan and it hopefully cleared it.  

Just a guess... but I think an ad of some sort is running a type of mining software in the background.

Sometimes when I'm using the site, my laptop fan will fire up and my laptop gets very hot.  I just copy the address of the page I'm on and close the window... then reopen the browser with that address and it's fine.

The fan shuts down, computer goes back to a normal temperature and all is good until I get hit with the mysterious process burning up my computer again.

I think it's an ad - not this site directly.

Interesting, my desktop does something similar but I have the ad free version. Every once in awhile something happens and the computer just screeches to a halt. It will spin its little icon and go forever before it updates/changes the page. I shut down, watch for my CPU's thinking light to stop blinking and reopen and all is fine. Happened today about 4 Oclock. Does not happen every day but from time to time for sure.

I agree. It has only happened to me when I've white listed this site. It has never happened with ad blocker turned on. 

My laptop has been running hot since I dropped it last year...(actually, caught the power cord with my foot, and pulled it down. Broke the fall with my other foot, which prevented any real damage). But the fan's been running hot since then.

I have the paid version so no ads for me, and it does it when I don't have the internet pulled up as well (a rarity). I don't THINK it's related but I'm not the most computer savvy.
