I may be opening a large can of worms here, but I just want to make a site suggestion.
I seem to be coming across a lot of instances where a Parallel set has the wrong back scan image. I have come across this going through my own collection, and also I am seeing it in the Inaccuracies Manager as well.
I know that just about everyone who contributes to this site means well and everyone's work towards building the content on the site should not be understated. But when an entire Parallel set has only the card backs pulled from the internet or pulled from the base set uploaded, it has the potential to cause problems.
Many of the Parallels, especially recent releases in Basketball, have a different back than the base card. Often it will say "Prizm" or "Horizon" or something to that effect on the back of the card.
My suggestion to help overcome this issue, would be to not allow a back image to be uploaded without there first being a front image. I think this would help cut down on a lot of the innaccurate card backs being uploaded.
Just a thought i wanted to have everyone chew on. And please be cordial commenting on this thread, I am not here to start a brawl.

I'd say no. There are many base sets with the exact same backs, i.e., card games is one prime example. And there are many parallel sets that have the exact same backs as the base set. It is very easy to upload one back and then ask Admin populate the rest of the backs when they are all the same. I've done this many times.

I assume you are referring to all the Prizm Prizms that have had the back image only uploaded that is from the base card, which is missing the Prizm wording. I've send an inaccuracy report, and I saw somebody else did too...but they are still there.
My gut reaction is that I am all for this idea. but thinking on it a little more, I remember that there's a few cards where I've uploaded the back only because the front was too damaged to use...but the back wasn't. (And a few the other way around, as well).

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. Another good point Billy. I've done the same with damaged/marked cards.

Sorry, this may be off topic but I was send here for this question. Does anyone know if the cards in the 1983 topps baseball stickers wax box set all have blank backs and if so, could I just us one card's back for all the cards in the set? I added one back scan already but that is because I own the card but I dont own any others.

I can't answer the first question. But if you can confirm that ALL of the stickers have the same back, it is acceptable to add the same scan for all of the backs.

I am also tired of seeing base card backs used for the PRIZM parallels. I think I reported several of those over the weekend.
However, I completely disagree with back scans only being allowed if the front is included. Just one example is Press Pass Inc. and all of their parallels for one release having exactly the same back. They did that in almost every release in almost every sport they produced in the 2000's.
And Topps does it now with every parallel that doesn't have a serial number on the back of the card.

When I was still trying to get to 25,000 points I would purposely skip any sets that had the backs already scanned, I have a sheet fed scanner that scans both sides automatically. There are a ton of parallel sets (late'90's-early 00's Pacific & recent Topps) that I skipped. Why should someone scan 1 card back and be able to get points on up to 10 different sets? Not to mention that quite often there are minor changes in the card backs (like Topps often has a different code on the bottom for many parallel sets -- even the non-numbered ones) - if they go to the trouble of changing the tiny code, who's to say they haven't inadvertantly changed some other things on the back. Unless you have the card in front of you, how do you know for sure that all the backs of each parallel are the same?

Thanks for the answer! I found a few of the cards and comfirmed that of those that I have found have blank backs. I will add the back scans today for the ones I found scans for, again thanks a lot!
