Since college player cards are getting their own sets right now and doesn't seem to be changing anytime soon, I was wondering if we wanted to split them into their own catergory. Right now they fall under the sport, but I think putting them under a College heading better describes them so as to distinguish them from their Pro cards. Just a thought don't know if anyone else cares or not. I won't be heartbroken if the sets stay where they are or are giving the different heading. Thanks.

This may have
already been
suggested, but I'll
do it anyway.
Adding dupes to
your collection or
for sale list is
pretty easy and
simple, as long as
you have multiples.
We have "add
another" & "add to
for sale/trade
list" If you have
just one copy to
add to for
sale/trade, why not
have the option
of "add another to
for sale trade
list" making two
steps one.
In a similar
situation, single
options for adding
multiples to
collections or for
sale trade where
there's only the
step of adding the
quantity and not
having to select
where you want the
quantity to go.
"add another to
collection"
"add another to for
sale/trade"
"add multiple to
collection"
"Add multiple to
for sale/trade"
Hope that makes
sense.

Oh, there's a clock
in my head and
despite what it
said, another one
on the wall. They
don't agree at
all...

So I was looking at my reports and was wondering if there might be an option to add a report for cards in my collection that need a photo to complete the set. I know that you can look at it by sport, but I would like to see the sets I can finish off.

Is there a way the system could be set up to use the same image in multiple sets?
Most parellel sets are only different on the front unless there is a serial number on the back. If the base set image could be linked to the parallels instead of having to be uploaded and approved for each and every parallel, it would save uploaders ALOT of time and it would save alot of hard drive space on the server.
For instance. Take 2014 Topps Baseball. There are at least 5 parallet sets that aren't serial numbered and have the exact same backs as the main base set. (blue, purple, platinum (serial on front), red, and gree)The way the system is right now, the image needs to be uploaded individually for all the parallels each time. So thats taking 6 times the amount of time to upload and approve in order to get images on all 6 sets. It also means that instead of 1 30KB (estimate) image of the card back on the server.. there are 6 taking up an estimated 180KB.
So I guess what Im asking is either, when a base set image card gets uploaded could something be added to the options for the user to check off which parallel sets that image can be used on? OR.. when a parellel set entry is created, could something be added to choose whether to allow images to be used from the base set?
I hope I made sense.

I usually just load the one back image on all the parallels and the individual scans for the different fronts.

I understand I only need to scan one back image.. but you still have to go through the upload process each time for each parallel dont you? Or am I missing a feature thats already available and going to look really stupid for that long post above?

Yes, you're right. I don't upload a lot of images so it doesn't bother me too much. In a case where someone who does upload a lot, I can see where it would get tedious.

The idea isn't a bad one ThemightyOx, but the only thing I can see that might be an issue is that the border of the cards are all different in those parellel sets. I know it seems crazy to upload the same photo with a different colored border, but it is what makes those cards a parellel. As for minis, you can see the difference in sizes between the cards. Unless people on the site just want to put the color in the set name and not have a different photo because of the difference in border colors. I know it is a lot of extra work to put those cards on when the only difference is the border color, but I think having the different colors showing is a good thing.

Ox is talking backs of cards only. The backs of the red, Red Hot Foil, Green, Yellow, Blue, and base cards (I may have missed a couple) for the 2014 Topps are all exactly the same. The fronts however, are different, and he never said to use those same photos.
