Sorry, probably should have included some instructions, but Billy has hit the nail on the head. That’s exactly how it works. The green buttons at the top are the key to switching collections. When removing cards, make sure you’ve gone through the collection you want to remove from. You can keep tabs of which collection you’re in by looking at the bread crumbs at the top of the page.
To answer some of the other questions:
Sandyrusty or anyone else currently using alternate ID’s to track multiple collections, please send a private message with the details once you feel comfortable making the switch.
The ability to direct transactions to specific collections will be a future enhancement. Right now, any automatic transfers from transactions will go into the main collection by default.
The ability to move items between collections will need to be a future enhancement as well. Please give some examples of the types of items you’d like to move between collections so that the functionality can be determined. It will need to be based on category, set, player, team or some other clear parameter.
Avs, make sure you clicked on the correct thing. Looking at your collections (http://www.tradingcarddb.com/Collections.cfm/avsbruins65), it looks like your main collection is viewable and the second collection you created is showing zero cards. If you click on the “All Collections” link, you can see both collections combined.
There is a limit on the number of collections, but unless you’re creating a separate collection for every card you own, you’ll probably never reach it.
C2Cigars, it sounds like you were looking at a combined view, then were in your main collection when you did the removal.
The ability to add and remove cards on alternate collections based on names and teams will be coming this week.
