Do you mean in general? Most sports it is the first year in the majors, baseball you need more than 130 at bats (or 50 innings pitched for pitchers).
For cards it used to be the very first card of that player produced no matter how many years/seasons that player has played in the majors.
Now? Who the heck knows?
OH wait now I think I get it you mean for this site? I think it has something to do with contributions to the site, not just hanging around the forum. In which case I will be a permanent Rookie. I have rarely had a chance to add an image of a card to the database or any new information or cards.

About 100 points. I added numerous checklists accumulating 5 points per entry. Don't have a scanner so can't tell you what you get for that. Made additions in glossaries but no points for that. Doesn't really matter though as this site is great because the users contribute to its overall use.

Different contributions have different point values. Adding checklists and scans add points. Fixing teams and forum entries add no points (but value to the site). I never did see a guide, but I know you get "Star" when you hit 1,000 points.

I don't know but I was a "Rookie" for a long time. (I'm a Playmaker now and probably will be for several years.) I've added a few checklists but mainly add team names to players cards. I don't have a scanner, so I try to contribute someway. As others have posted, I think it's a great site and so many people help make it so.

It's not 100 points to move past "Rookie". I think it is 25 to get to "Benchwarmer" and 50 to get to "Player". I was adding lots of scans that I happened to have on my PC. I was at 48 points before I noticed that I was listed as Benchwarmer. I added some more scans and got to 81 points, now I am listed as a Player.

Don't worry about the ranking you have BOB. I did the same as you - entered my collection first (only the stars I collect - not everything I have in the house). Then I started to add checklists, report errors and make corrections. If we all do that, the site just gets more informative for all. I thnk that is why this site works for most of us - it is really maintained by collectors and not a business.

I am STILL adding stuff in my collection! I have mostly been woking on adding the cards I have available FT/FS, and correcting/adding info for anything I see that needs it as I do that. I needed a break from adding stuff, and decided to help by adding pics of everything that was already in my scanlist on my PC. A lot of those cards aren't even in my PB account anymore. I was surprised they were still on my computer!
I haven't even started adding cards from my PC's yet!

I could be wrong, but I think a large checklist is worth more points than a small checklist. Or maybe a base set checklist is worth more than an insert checklist. Either way, I don't think I always get the same number of points when I add a checklist. As I said, I could be wrong about this.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.
