Wow talk about a points jump!! I went from 921 to 1205 overnight. This tells me something I think I did not know, some points are not added until the month end roll over. Is this correct? I have been doing alot of checklist fixing over the past month and not much scanning so was surprised this morning when I had "Star" beside my name. BTW to all us canuckleheads, Happy Canada Day / Free Agent Frenzy !! LOL Enjoy the day.

I have never seen any point jump but it would be nice if this does occur.  I can't believe how many checklists I have had to add team names to or correct information on.  I can understand when a player is a common and hardly known but when you are talking guys like Cal Ripken or George Brett whoo played their whole career with the same team, it is not hard to figure out what team they represent on the card.  I am also finding cards where only the front of the card is scanned.  You get 2 points for the first scan of a card and only one additional for the second scan of the same card.  Therfore I think some only scan one side to maximize points overtime.  Unfortunately it takes another member to come across the missing scan and submit it if he has the card.  But having fun doing this during the rainy weather.

I like the feature where i can pull a report of the cards in my collection that the site needs scans for whether front or back or both.  I know a few of my scans were rejected because the cards get slightly tilted when i close the cover on my scanner so that may account for why some cards only have one side scanned.

 

And Happy Canada Day to my friends here from someone whose ancestors orginally came to Cape Breton, but then headed south to warmer weather.

Wow!  You made me look at my points. Yesterday they were 7500+, today 7800+.  About 300 points overnight.

Football seems to be the worst for front-only scans, in most sets from the junk wax era. Makes me wonder if the site didn't use backs in its early days. That's also the same era where almost all checklists have Beckett abbreviations for multi-player cards. I think the site standards have probably changed over the years. Also, I don't pay enough attention to my points total to notice a jump. I also spend more time fixing checklists than I do scanning. I'm in the same general area in the Top 100 that I was last time I looked, but no idea if my points increased.

Yes Happy Canada / Free Agent Day.  The Canucks gave away Eddie Lack, Kevin Bieksa ans Zack Kassian.  The Leafs traded Phil Kessel and now, I hope the Leafs can give away Dion Phaneuf.   Very sad to see Eddie Lack go.

Everything I know about Canada, I learned from Strange Brew. I guess I should eat some back bacon tonight to celebrate.

Poutine for the main course? And a Nanimo Bar for dessert!!! Nice to see that somebody else did such a big jump as well, I have no clue why tho ..... and as for you ol coots (switzr1) you have SO MANY points I'd lose count too!! =)

I also noticed a HUGE points jump today! I went up by about 700 points overnight. I was on here until about 1 am EDT Tuesday night and adding scans a few at a time. I know how drastic this jump was b/c I sent a PM to my friend Billy Kingsley at 11:56 pm EDT and mentioned that I was just over 8400 pts. Then I come home tonight and am now at nearly 9100. Something has changed here on the site! I did NOT add 700 pts. worth of scans last night and I added no checklists. I have added tons of info to set listings over the past month, but I was doing that before too and never noticed a jump at the end of the month.

You jumped up in points too. Not as much as I did, somehow. When I logged off last night, I was about 20 points behind you. I was #63 and you were #62. Now I am #59! I thought it would take another month or so to break into the Top-60. Your points jumped by about 200.

 

Also (TO EVERYONE), in my understanding, back scans are worth 2 points and front scans are worth 1 point!
