I currently am only using an iPad right now, as my PC is down. Is it possible to scan cards on my scanner/printer that I connect to via wi-fi upload them to the site? Sometimes iPad is very limited in such tasks and I am limited as well on what tasks are possible on IPad. I would be glad to scan in some of my cards that are missing on the site. I just need a little guidance. I did see the instructions for scanning, but they are geared towards computer. Sorry if I missed something or didn't read far enough. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction? By the way, I am new to the site and am so happy to have found it! It is so helpful and has turned the seemlngly impossible task of cataloging my collection into an undertaking I can actually achieve! Thanks to everyone who contributes to this awesome database. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Your iPad will need a photo editing app that can control the scanner from the iPad. If the app has cropping, straightening (rotating), and image settings; that would be a plus and time saver.

Welcome to the site farmgirl, good luck in your app hunting!! The other reason I am adding to this thread is I have a question as well. The other day I was getting an X-Ray and the reception lady asked for my health card ID and then proceeded to scan it through a scanner. I noticed this and was quite surprised. I asked her about it and she said it was a hard surface scanner. It is made for scanning items that are not made of paper. Has anyone ever heard of these and if so is it something that would work for hockey cards?? It took like 2 seconds for it to pop it through the scanning process, GAWD would that increase the amount one could scan in an evening. Any info would be great.

I don't know if that is what ranfordfan is talking about, but I would be interested to know if anyone has used these for sports cards.

They can't be used for our purposes. They're text scanners that read the cards and place the information (name, address, DOB, etc) into data fields in a file. They're also monochromatic.
There are some expensive single-pass two-sided image scanners, but what you saw are just card readers. And some can also capture a black & white image.
