I read the link, it states, "The scanner can import images and documents up to 4.2 inches by 7 inches." I researched further, it means you can import images from other devices (camera, scanner, etc) and the WorldCard will read the information (names, addresses, etc) on the imported image.
Sorry I burst your bubble. But your not the only one who's looking for an inexspensive, time-saving scanner...we've all had our bubbles burst.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Oddly enough I was about to ask this question about my iPhone! I have several "scanner" apps, that do both PDF documents and images. The ones I have are Readdle's Scanner Pro, Scabot, Pic Scanner, Tiny Scanner and Fast Scanner (free to a couple of bucks, and I have plenty of room on the phone). So I'm wondering if these apps are good for loading card images onto the site, or are they still akin to taking literally taking a photo of a card?

Yes, it takes a picture then uses special software to make adjustments for geometry, shadows, lighting, etc. Why not test it out and post the results in the forum.

I am pitted in on the item above everybody, $144 at Staples online store, if it works I will be sure to let you all know. Cross your fingers I found a simpler way to scan all of these cards!! If it sucks I will just return it!! Have a good evening all. =D

The only other thing to consider with these scanners that the item goes through rather than sits on, is the potential for damaging the item going through. Most people don't care if a business card or insurance card gets a dinged corner, however, one of our precious trading cards is another story. (Besides, most insurance cards are plastic anyways, at least the ones I have had in the last 20 years.) I would definitely attempt a scan on a 1988-1990 Topps common first. :)

Remember the discussion about these around 2 years ago in the forum? There was a video link to a news story about a shop in Burbank who used one of these to scan all his cards for his website. Not sure the make or model, but I know a big time seller uses one, and we all talked about it then.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

It was burbanksportscards on ebay. I found the thread. The scanner they used was a Fujitsu model fi-6130Z. That was back in 2013. According to their web site it is no longer available. Probably a better one now, but around $800.
