I have a question. I'm new to making trades. 

I completed a trade and it showed up in that section of my transaction page but it appears the cards weren't taken from my want list and added to my collection. 

I didn't propose the trade but I think it was done through the manager where you pick the cards.

Any info on how that works?

Also the card that I traded away were removed from the data base. Does it take a day or something. I think he got his cards first and then a day or two later (last night), I got mine and made the change last night. 

Here's the note located at the bottom of transactions:

"Note: If the selection method was used to add cards to the transaction, changing the status to "Package Sent" will change the status of the items in your collection to "In-Transit". Changing the status to "Package Received" will move the items into your collection."
