You are not a moron. I worked in IT (used to be DP) until I retired and have numerous PC problems, of course my excuse is I worked on mainframes. Now where is your problem, uploading a card for identification purposes? My sons made me get rid of IE years ago.

Uploading is not an issue, just when I'm in the forums here I can not get a photo to upload into the thread. I have tried the photo icon and it has a pop up which I do not understand. I also tried the cut and paste method which also has a pop up asking for me to allow use of my clipboard. I have tried allowing and disallowing but neither works. I can get the photo to show up when I am entering text and so on but after I click the post button it only shows up as a box with a small x inside of it. I still use IE because I like it personally, have tried the chrome and firefox and have never been compeled to leave IE for them.

is your initial photo file being saved as a JPG? i've noticed with some of the programs i use, save pics get saved as a some form of Microsoft Photo Editor, bitmap, or some other sort of file and sometimes that file doesn't convert properly into threads or post. Try opening your file again and Save As... JPG format or ensure its saved as that first.. if you're scanning your photos in ensure your scanning properties are setup correctly- if its scanning in as a PDF or other format that could create problems as well

Good on both points, always use jpg format. I am using a screenshot I made this morning, I hit the key on my keyboard, open it in Paint and save as a jpg on to my desktop. Then when I try to add it tnto a thread that is where it all goes bezerk. There seems to be no simple way for me to just plunk it in here and make it work. I see others doing it ALL the time.

instead of using a screen shot method then paint, try using the Snipping Tool. If you have an up to date computer just go into your search when you click on the Start Icon in the lower left and type in snipping tool, then save as....

I just open the photo in a photo editor, windows explorer, etc. and then right-click, choose "Copy Image". Then go to my forum post and paste it in.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.
