Just thought I would get some feedback on a couple of ideas.
First involves checklists for sets such ast this http://www.tradingcarddb.com/Subsets.cfm/sid/127925
There is no way a checklist can ever be created. Nobody knows what cards Topps grabbed out of a box, stamped (some would say ruin) and then stuck in packs. There is no way Topps even knows. Here is my question regarding this. Would it be appropriate for us to add to the checklist one card at a time. For instance right in front of me is a1966 Hank Aguirre card number 113. So how about if the checklist is created as such. I add the card to the blank checklist as
Card Number Name Team Note
NNO Hank Aguirre Detroit Tigers 1963Topps113
No the problem I realize right away with this is to add individual items to the DB, you need level 8 access (I am at 7 but the site allows me to add sample cards to sets, a level 8 permission) so the majority of the site members could not access this.
Second. I notice when adding checklists one of the types of set definitions available is 'Home Made'. What do you think of a similar idea of creating a "SET" called Personal Autographs. Once again entries can be NNO and added individually so an entry could be like this below. I'll use the same card as above as an example.
Card Number Name
NNO 1963 Topps #113 Hank Aguirre
Formatting this was would not add to the player's "official cards" in the database since the name has a date, company, and card number in it. Not including a team eliminates creating a team card for team collectors in the DB for them to "phantom chase." Once again though the level 8 permissions problem eliminates most users.
Thoughts?
