I agree with what Billy posted, especially the 1st sentence! I don't have the health issues that he has, but I consider him a friend and I'm pleased that he's happy with his contributions to the site. The points I've gained since joining the site show how much I have contributed to the site. Making the site better, more accurate, and more complete is my main goal here!!! I have spent more time adding info/CL's/scans/etc. on here than I have spent adding my own cards to my Collection or FS/T lists.
The points I have amassed show my contributions to the site and it's easy to calculate that scans are not where all of my points came from on here. I do have every single NASCAR card I own listed on here and with complete and correct info and almost all of them have scans. Some of my Mark Martin cards have not been scanned yet, but I have also added scans for many cards I traded away since joining the site. I was starting on scans for Martin until the new Panini Prizm Racing set released. Everything I have pulled, acquired and/or traded from that set has had scans added, plus any missing info. I also added CL's for all of the inserts that were missing them. Plus, I like to make sure there is a "Sample Card" attached to set listings with a scan, so that others know what they have or are looking for when searching. I don't think you gain points for adding sample cards, but I don't care about that. I want people to know the difference in parallels when the difference is not based on a serial number!
Every bit of info provided by members is important to the site, regardless of points gained for that info! This site has even made me work more on getting Beckett.com more accurate. When I add any info/scans here, I make sure to add them there at the same time too. I actually feel like Beckett should pay me for the wealth of info I've provided them since they charge people to access anything but the forums there. I don't feel that way here b/c this site is all about collectors helping other collectors!
TCDB is exactly what the name says it is and members make it better every single day! This is the best trading-card site on the planet and it continues to get better every week.
NO PWE's EVER!!! PLZ PM me 1st before sending any offer. ONLY selling cards as of March 2024. No trades or purchases right now.
