There are some cards that don't have images on the site that I have but that are somewhat damaged. Do you all think it's a good idea to try to upload images of my cards or just leave it be?

Yes and no, if the card in question is rare or really old then yes as the odds another member has a better version would be slim otherwise no, it also depends on what somewhat damaged means

Admin has stated that yes, upload them...a better scan can be overwritten in the future.
I'm getting ready to overwrite the 1957-58 Topps Hockey #66 because my copy is in significantly better condition in just a few moments. The scan posted is fine but the card is in lower condition, with some color loss on both sides. Mine is simply much better. Here is a screencap of the card posted now.

I'd like a way to tag images that need replacing. And have that type of list in the To Do area (Images that need Replacing). So, if you upload a damaged card you can tag it for replacement. Otherwise, once a bad image is uploaded who's going to know to replace it unless they happen to stumble across it and just happen to have a better image.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Tagging a card image that needs to be replaced would be very cool.

I like this concept as well, and sent a note on to Admin to consider it.

I've wondered for a while if there would be a practical way to add placeholder images when we have a pic that doesn't meet standards but is better than nothing. Like a checkbox on the upload screen that would make it so the card wouldn't register as having an image (thus stay on the 'things to do' list), and it wouldn't get selected for RCOTD. Probably shouldn't get points for it either.
But every time I start putting a lot of thought into it, I decide to let it go and get back to working on stuff I can add that does meet standards since I still have plenty of that left to do...LOL!

The tag has been created now using the tagging system that is already built-in. It’s labeled “Scan Needs Replacing”. It’s a matter of visiting a card’s page and clicking on the “Add Tag” link located under the card images. A link to view all tagged cards was added to the “Things To Do” page.
Damaged cards or rare cards that have been personally autographed are ok to handle this way. The FAQ was updated recently with info on replacing images:
