I have seen it used with an AC or a AAC. What one should be used?

Trying to acquire one card for every for every set, insert, parralle, minor, euro, team issue, oddball etc sets produced for Hockey. Been an interesting project.

AC - I have no idea why AAC would ever be used for that. I also saw ACC and AAC in the same set yesterday! (Being that I keep an eye on the Glossary, I changed them.)

I'm going to amend my statement.
After posting my last comment, I went and looked at the current state of the Glossary. AC is used for other terms. ACO is only being used for Assistant Coach, Assistant Coaches, or Associate Coach (we could even change the description of the plural to singular).
After that review, I do believe for the sake of simplicity, ACO should be the choice for Assistant Coach (CO is used for Coach, after all).
Now I have a task for tonight.

I've always used ACO for Asst Coach.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Why do we need to differentiate between coach and assistant coach? CO for both works for me. It lets me know that the card doesn't depict a player, but a coach. Whether its a head coach, defensive coach, bench coach, assistant coach, batting coach, relationship coach, etc. who cares. Do we need an acronym for all? Where to draw the line? Just my opinion, but it could get out of hand otherwise.

~Rob~ Hockey set collector including inserts, ERR, COR, VAR. Knowledgeable about 1968-69 to 1994-95 hockey. All 1990 and newer cards for trade are NRMT. Expect the same in return. 1989 and older are assigned a grade. Everything on my trade list is available for sale. Reasonable prices based on condition. If it's not on my tradelist, it's not available.

You know, I really like this notion! It's true, and what's strange, and going on my experience with minor league baseball sets, some will say "Coach" on the card while others will say "Pitching Coach", "Hitting Coach", etc. I think it matters slightly more in hockey, when it differentiates the Head Coach from the other coaches.
So what I get out of this is that we can pretty much limit the non-players to these.
- MG - Manager
- HC - Head Coach
- CO - Coach
- TR - Trainer
- CM - Clubhouse Manager
- GM - General Manager
- OWN - Owner
Do we lump the Strength and Conditioning Coaches under CO too? Works for me.
Any others or suggestions? I'll take this to Admin and see what he says.

Well that is interesting ..............
I have always used AC as acronyms are normally (IMO) the first letter of each word (for multiple word descriptions). Also both are in the accepted list of abreviations. That is part of the problem with the Note1 ..... there should be a complete revamp of the system so only what the site allows can be entered. Now I feel like a boob as it sounds like all my efforts have been in vain and I thought AC was actually better than ACO. Oh well, lesson learned ............. again.

A basketball team has a coach and assistant coaches as well as strength and conditioning and associate coaches, directors of basketball operations, etc. But the team only has one coach. There is only one Red Auerbach on the team. Trying to compare that to whatever terms they use in hockey is silly. Chuck Daly, Pat Riley, Don Nelson, and Phil Jackson are coaches. Just because hockey apparently uses the term head coach means nothing in basketball. Lets start calling major league baseball managers bat boys because they both sit in the dugout too.

We will also have to get rid of offensive and defensive coordiantors under football. A coordinator is a coordiantor like assistant coaches are coaches in basketball and general managers are managers in baseball?
Its like the things that don't belong in the database argument. Clearly Topps baseball stickers don't belong in this database because they are not trading cards, were not packaged with trading cards and were originally sold in packages with other stickers that were intended to be put in a sticker album. While they were manufactured by Topps, who happened to also make cards, Topps was manufacturing stickers in this case. No Topps baseball stickers belong in this database under that argument. The gum that used to come in packs is more of a legitimate baseball card insert than a Topps sticker is a trading card.
I disagree with that argument and think they do belong just like the schedules and other similar items. But you disagree with me and that is why we can have these little discussions.
