I'm glad the buybacks are being entered into the database, but the cards are getting out of order. Treat the date--### just like real card numbers. So 1987-537 needs to be before 1990-254 or whatever. Is there a way for some of us to reorder the list, I have level 8 but can't figure out a way, unless I'm missing the obvious.

Just one question. Why add a prefix to the card number? The card number on the card does not have a prefix. Was this Admin's recommendation?

Shouldn't there be different checklists for the 2017 rediscover Topps for the different colors. Bronze, Silver and blue

When I first started adding the Buybacks with inserts last year I messaged Admin with the idea of date-### and asked if it was inappropriate to remove it. They didn't.

I started off the 2017 buybacks with my Terry Pendleton card. The numbering was based on a previous post. Personally, I'm not a fan, as it doesn't take sets outside the base sets into account.

My two cents: One of the things I really like about this site is the link to eBay listings from the card page. That search is based on the card description in TCDB. Sometimes insert names/numbers get really convoluted, especially when the title of the set/insert set has other information added that, I think, should be in the form of a note instead. There are reprint sets that have the year in a note, which makes sense. Can something like that be done for the buybacks?
Sorry....not sure if that was a comprehensive sentence...

I'm not a fan of creative card numbering. The number as printed on the card should always be used. As Sousafly stated, Note or Note2 should be used to identify them as buybacks and their original (actual) year of printing/release.

this does not really affect my collection, but..
if we did not use the year as part of the card number, couldn't we have same number more than once since they inserted who knows how many complete buyback sets into the product?

Yes, but no different than NNO.

I agree with C2C on this, the rules are pretty clear on things and numbering is one of them, NNO if not numbered, if so then as per the card back (or front in some cases). Note and/or Note2 sounds like the proper route here. Just my two cents as well.
