I was wondering if maybe someone should go through the members list and remove any members who haven't:
1. Put any cards on the database at all.
2. Not checked in for at least 3 years back
3. Checked in the day they joined and never come back
I kind of went through the first part of the A's and there were 42 members who meet all of the above and I only checked through the Ad's of the list.
It takes forever to go through there and try to find a certain person. I think if they don't have even a single card on the DB and haven't checked in since 2009 maybe they should be deleted and free up some space. Just an idea.

There is an icon on there to indicate whether they have logged in within the last 30 days. There was a forum thread that discussed that exact thing and Admin is very reluctant to delete a user without the user themselves requesting it. There have been cases of people signing up one day 1, not returning for months, and then visiting daily. Keep an eye on those 30-day icons!

Would there be a benefit from adding a feature that allowed a user to view the membership list using one or more date parameters (online today, this week, last 30 days, etc.)? This would seem to serve the recent use purpose without removing anyone from the list.

I only agree with Number 3.
1) Some people don't have the capability to add cards to the database because they don't have a scanner, or a very poor scanner that doesn't meet the requirements for an acceptible scan. Not to mention not all collectors are constantly getting cards so guess what Most of their cards are ALREADY IN THE DATABASE.
2) I guess if they only visited the message boards and never added anything into their collection maybe. I rarely use photobucket anymore but still check in every few months to see if a certain card I think I had scanned was there, or to post a photo I thought I had there someplace else (I've heard that they are supposedly shutting down the free linking function, not sure if that is true or not, but I digress)
At anyrate I think it up to ADMIN and ADMIN ONLY to determine WHEN to DELETE a member against their wishes. In case #3 someone who signed up one day and was only active that one day tends to be a little suspcious. As Dan (Vrooomed) said there have been cases of people showing up for a little while then going a month or sometimes more and then returning and visitiing daily or mostly daily from then on. I fall into one of those latter cases. I had signed up visited a few days to get a feel for how things were (being used to the Zistle format I was confused at first about how somethings worked around here) then "disappeared" for a few months maybe even a year and then returned.

I signed up in June 2014, never started using until January 2015. I know thats not three years but still. And to delete someone is kinda harsh. Sadly that the way the interweb works nowadays. Heck some people could have passed and we would never know it. I do like the idea of a few more icons, like 90 days and 365 days not here.

I'm especially opposed to #1. I have a pretty nice collection that is always growing. But there are very few cards I have that weren't already in the database. I found a few and scanned them, but that surprised me. Even new stuff...there's always someone who's a bit faster than I am at getting them in the database. I was shocked that I got to the 2016 Topps World Series cards before anyone else. At the moment, the only scan I could contribute is the back if one coin.
So that's a bad criterion.
The other two, I think I'm ok with.

No one should ever be deleted from the group. If you joined, then weren't able to get on for some reason, and came back and found you had been deleted, would you come back? I'd say no...you'd likely tell everyone who would listen to never go there and then what, potential new members could/will be lost. We don't need that reputation. I afraid we may have lost nubala due to one member attacking his stated preferred method of collecting already.
Full disclosure- Beckett did that to me. I was a member there years ago and now they say they have no record of me. I had stopped posting there anyway but I was bored one day and tried to log into the forum. Just to see what was going on, maybe start posting again. Have not been back since.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. I do like HutNut's suggestion of some filters to help narrow down the search criteria! Admin? Can that be added to the "to do" list (with credit to HutNut, if not previously suggested)?

Nubala has logged in today (checked their profile page because you said that about them). Hopefully, they continue to stick around. Maybe they just decided to stay away from the forums.

deleting someone is an Iffy situation. i know i was not on here for a year because of my schedule. Also, when you do google searches for cards, this site pops up for whatever your searching for and some people get interested in what its about so joins.. now from there,... it may take a little time to determine it its worth their while. But, it may be better if Admin sent a email to the user, lets say after 6, 9, or 12 months of non-use.. like a "We miss you" notification and ask at that point whehter or not they wish to continue to unsuscribe from the site or not.
