Let me say first...Love this site, best there is.
I just had 2 transactions totalling over 1000 cards where a half dozen were not removed from my data base inventory of for sale / trade cards. Comparing transaction list to in transit list for a transaction is not easy when talking that many cards. I figured out which ones and manually removed them.
Now I have 2 trades going involving 105 cards. Only 100 show up on in transit list. Finding which 5 were missing was easier but...why is this happening? All cards are listed as for sale in the data base. All cards are listed in the transaction. How many times has this happened that wasn't caught, and I am still showing cards in my trade list that I don't actually have?
On my profile page, I always check the recently collected to make sure they match all cards obtained in a transaction. Perhaps there is need of a recently traded list on the profile page, so that those cards can be double checked that way too?
Very frustrated.

Not sure K6. I just made a much smaller trade and suspect similar gremlins in the system, but I caught the "missing" cards and removed them from the request being made. What I did is remove them from FS/FT and placed them In-Transit with a note that I can't locate them with the idea that as I'm doing inventory (which I presently am with my small collection) I'll determine if I do have them, or if they were traded and never removed as I suspect.
One other thing, though, as I've been inventorying is that sneaky "Multi-Sport" category. I generally am oblivious to that as I usually look only at player's name and the associated picture and look for it in a box. However, when dealing with databases those are the items that are sneakily misplaced or unaccounted for.
I'm sure none of this helps, and you've probably considered this multiple times. I feel your pain.

I suspect I was just recently caught with a similar problem. A trade had requested 6 cards that I no longer had in my Trade boxes. I believe they went out with another trade but did not get removed.
I can only emphasize to all traders - follow all of the steps in the Transaction process so that the system can perform as designed.

I must confess, too, that I have made a few off-the-record trades and forgot to remove the cards from my list. But that's not always the case with these issues. I've never traded more than 200 cards so I can't imagine those nightmares in organizing a collection involving thousands of cards in a deal.

I am in the final stages of a small trade, 2 cards for 1. My card was received and I'm awaiting the 2 cards. When I read this post earlier today I went to the card which I sent. It was still listed as available for sale/trade. I manually removed it. I then checked the 2 cards I am to receive, they are not listed as in transit. Perhaps the system is "down"? People with trades in process might want to check.

Perhaps your trade partner did not update in transaction manager in the proper order.

That's the nightmare K6 has because In-Transit doesn't differentiate between trade partners. All the cards will show up so a color coded or in/out function would benefit all of us. Otherwise figuring accuracy on large trades can be taxing.
Maybe, if the process is not being logged as it should be, then that should be controlled by setting up the system to where it requires you to log package received before allowing you to log it as completed.

This is partially why I'll pull the cards the person wants from me before accepting the deal now..

I do this too. I've never had an issue with my inventory yet, but my OCD prohibits me accepting an offer before viewing the cards for trade in hand.

I agree that the practice of pulling before accepting a deal helps tremendously, but I think the system could be improved to keep what K6 experienced from happening. Even if it simply warns you when cards overlap on different offers.
