To me, the biggest problem is the players who later use the suffix. My Top-2 examples would both be NFL players and their children are barely old enough to play Little League. Steve Smith Sr. and Thomas Davis Sr. are what they go by now and for the last couple of years, but they only became Sr. after they had children that they named after themselves a few years ago. My problem with that is that since they added the moniker to their jerseys, the card companies have done the same. As if Steve Smith wasn't already confusing enough in the card world in several sports, now there are Steve Smith Sr. cards of the exact same NFL WR. At least for "Smitty", his Sr. cards all came out after he went to the Baltimore Ravens AND Davis Sr. has always played for the Carolina Panthers, even before he added the Sr.. These 2 players alone will cause serious confusion in the future if their children play professional sports.
