Why when I add a card to For Sale/Trade list does it dissappear from my collection? The card is still a part of my collection but it is available. After I trade it or sell it, I can then remove it from my collection, but it should stay in my collection as it really is in my collection, until that happens.
Secondarily, why when someone lists a card in their want list, does it reflect on that cards mainpage as in their collection? I have added a few very low serial numbered cards lately and found out that even though it lists the card as being in someone elses collection, that it is in fact only in their want list and not in their collection.
Could the homepage of the individual card be tweaked to have a clickable link for people who have it listed in their collection, a clickable link for people who have it in their collection and listed it for sale/trade, and a clickable link for people who have listed the card in their want list.
Sorry if these questions have been asked and answered already. I scrolled through a few pages of the different forums to no avail.

I further noticed that cards you own listed in for sale/trade dont even have a history. The history reads as no cards listed.

I'll try to answer this. First, cards you list as FS/T don't stay in the Collection portion b/c it might be a duplicate. If you have only one copy of a card that is available to trade, you don't want it listed in both the Collection and the FS/T list! All haves and traders are technically in Your Collection. If you look at YOUR Profile page, the collection # is a total of all cards you listed as haves AND all cards listed as FS/T. It doesn't include Wants in that number.
For your second question, how else are we to know who has it to keep or trade and who wants it? If all 3 show up on a card's page, it's just one click to see everyone for each category. Yes, it skews the number that shows up on that card's page but it let's you know if there is interest in the card.
Finally, there are already so many clickable links on any card's page (once you get the Permissions to see them) that adding two more to sort out the wants and traders would look/feel like overkill. Plus, it would take pages longer to load and could lead to links not loading or loading incorrectly.
I hope this info helps.

Thank you for the response. Completely understand and am on board with your answer to the first question. Makes sense to have them separated in the for sale/trade category although I still think it should also show in your collection but little need for duplication etc except for neurotics which i guess I am.
I do not agree with the reasoning for the seocnd question and therefore the third answer is negated by that. Two different members have already messaged me back saying that they aren't sure why it keeps showing them as owning a card in their want list. On top of that one member has told me that he has received multiple messages from users trying to acquire the card from him even though he just listed it as a want. I don't want to clutter pages either but in reality to add a link under members who own this card that states members who want this card is not clutter. If it is clutter, then rename the link to members who own or want this card. So it doesn't read, members who own this card and then you click it to find members who dont own that card which is how it is setup now. This would help all new people going forward because it would be self explanatory why people who dont own the card are listed. As opposed to me who has been active for 2 weeks and wondering why members are listing themsleves as owning 1/1s that I have on my desk right now.

If you have one copy for your collection, and a spare to trade, add a second copy to your tradelist. I discovered this the hard way when I just marked my tradelist off my collection. When I traded a card, it no longer appeared in my collection! I had to manually go in to each set and add a duplicate copy of the card that was available for trade so it would not leave my collection when I traded it.
In fact, I just discovered one I had missed this week, when I discovered that a card I knew I had showed as not being part of my collection.
As for people asking for cards that appear on wantlists, that's just people not taking the time to read everything. At one point I had somebody compose a trade with me- before the trade manager existed- from my collection. He hadn't taken the time to scroll down and see that my tradelist even existed, nor my wantlist.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. I get if you have multiples to use one in the collection and add one to your for trade list. I learned that from reading the forums thankfully instead of having to learnt he hard time. But if you only have one copy of the card you want to trade, me being me, I want to still see that in my collection until i actually move it. Although seeing the for for sale/trade lsit under the collection list helps a bit.
As for the wantlist, it is a case of people not reading everything, but also could be easily solved by separating the I own this list form the I want to own this list. i got crazy excited earlier when i liksted a /3 card I owned and saw 2 other memebrs listed as owning it. I though holy cow, after 2 years I found the 2 guys that own the other cards I need to finish closing the /3. After clicking the members who own this link I was crushed to find out neither of them owned it.

If you only own one card, it can only be in one "location" at a time. It's either in your collection, or it's up for trade or sale. It can't be both - because if you trade or sell it, then the system has to try to figure out if it was just 1 card you had or if you had 2. There is NO WAY to program that. (Yes, I code.)

Agreed. I have said and do understand that it is not as bad since it is listed on your profile in separate lists. I do not code but have a strong enough understanding to know that there is literally no way to know if a card is traded or sold or lost without the user making those updates so much eaiser to just track separately.
As someone who does code though, please give yourr opinion of the 2nd part of this. The whole want list is tracked as part of your collection.

Just as Billy said in his last paragraph, some people don't take time to just read. I just got a PM from someone (who just joined the site today) wanting to buy a card that I have in my Wantlist. They just assumed that I had the card b/c my name was in there somewhere. They didn't even bother to see what I collect to know that if I had that card, I wouldn't be selling it or even trading it.

The Wantlist is NOT tracked as part of your collection. It is linked to the card as someone who wants to own it, just as people who own the card to keep and people who own the card to trade it are linked to the card.
