When confronted with a card such as this one (and in fact this entire insert checklist), the correct name order would be "Mark Messier / Ozzie Smith" and the correct team order would be "Edmonton Oilers / San Diego Padres" if I am not mistaken? It would seem to me that a multi-athlete card should be listed with names from left to right, and the corresponding teams listed in the same order as well, but wanted to be sure before I started mucking a bunch of things up.
Thanks in advance,
Jason

I would say your thinking is correct. I do see this happen a lot where the names and teams are switched.

I don't know if there's an official rule, but I like to listed them left-to-right or top-to-bottom. And the teams correspondingly.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking the same thing; I never recall seeing a "rule" per se in the FAQs or any of the permissions, but it is much more pleasing on the eyes (or at least on mine) when they are listed L-R and the teams are matched up.

No rule no (as far as my research has ever found) but if I were to scroll through my Admin emails from way back that was their reply as well. It has never been put in stone and C2C or vrooomed would be the ones who would know. =)

Never a hardfast rule here, I know we were doing that on COMC when they crowd-sourced building their checklists.
Being that I feel the same way about that - whenever I run across a card in the database like that, I change it.
Also remember, that each name and team only be listed once. Thanks!

Dan, what exactly do you mean by listed once? I'm assuming something like this as far as names go, and then listing each team once an example would be a Red Sox/White Sox/White Sox league leaders card would read "Boston Red Sox / Chicago White Sox", yes?

As easy at is sounds, in that order, keep in when new CL are published they are most of the time mixed names as in the order mentioned. This is very important because when it comes to Panini alpha card # , it won't reflect the order on the CL, but how it is on the card. So, that can lead to many name ordering corrections when those cards are published and scanned
