As I was entering cards, I found a collectors edge first quarter card that is not listed for my Hawkeye collection. It is a 1999 Mike Devlin designated as MD on the back.  His "rookie" has been listed as the 2000 Topps for years, but did I find a new rookie?

I’m not totally sure what you are saying, but if it is a card not in a set you can use the contact use feature to get that fixed.

Collector's Edge and Topps are two different manufacturers. I think by definition a player has a rookie card for each manufacturer, no?

Sure looks that way. Thanks for your efforts to find it. I grew up in an era where a rookie card was the first card and the first card only. That is why the big three raced to get players on cards first. Old habits are hard to break. I have some catching up to do with the hobby as I have been collecting, but not keeping up with the hobby itself. How do I add this to the database?

when you are looking at the set there is a link on bottom left called 'report any inaccuracies'

that can be used to ask another member to fix/add

Additionally, a RC designation is only for cards that were made for the major league (NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA), not for minors or college.

Also, only base cards get an RC. No inserts, promos, samples, previews.
