This is a 1986 TCMA All Time Reds Johnny Bench card showing his head shot.....different from the card in the database showing him in batting stance. Is this a variation or from another set?

I will check into it, but many of these TCMA sets have a color photo and a black/white photo version.

There are, in fact, two 1986 TCMA Reds All-Time greats sets- one in color, one in black and white.

Just to keep things interesting, a lot of those 1986 TCMA All-Time cards have a variation on the back regarding the presence or absence of an MLB logo by the card number.

Correct- and many of those cards were issued in "Collector's Kits," which were marketed at toy retailers.
