I found a bit of historical fiction about these "Missing Link Productions" cards:
http://www.southwestbowl.com/Hobbies/MJ.htm
I doubt anything in that write-up is true aside from the cards being unlicensed. I seriously doubt these were actually made shortly after the Olympics since the set is strictly Jordan, and he wasn't exactly the biggest name on the team at the time. There seem to be two versions of the card you posted (one that seems to be in pink card stock), and the card #2 with Jordan dribbling around someone.

Reinair, look at the rest of the cards in that set on the Beckett website. None of the others look like this one. Definitely not a Star Card (Dan/Vrooomed worked there, he would know)
I'm amused that on eBay right now, a person selling a white-back of this card says the pink-backs are reprints, and a person selling a pink-back says the white-backs are reprints.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

In either case, they were never licensed prints. :)

There are plenty of the unlicensed cards listed on TCDB. I'm sure DaClyde has info on the card (if there was a set, or not, etc.) as he is extremely knowledgable of such issues. Sorry it's not a Star Co card, as I know that set can sell for a decent price (or least it did previously). So, once it gets listed, you'll be able to add it to your collection here.

I'll keep digging. If a card exists, I have no problem adding it to the site, I just want to be sure it is listed accurately. I would like to know the actual year it was produced and whether or not there are more than just the two cards in the "set".

Thats really great! such a lot of experience in here. :)
for me it is the first time to get in contact with other collecter´s in my 20 collecting-years. and compared to you i am not really a collector, i guess. ;)
how can you find out the year it was produced without any info on it?

Reinhard, Do you have cards? Then you're a collector too. The great thing about the people on this site, no one thinks they are better than anyone else. We do have people who are very knowledgable in specific areas, but no one knows all, and no one claims that either. I think everyone who has come to this site has learned something by being here. And the Admin(s) here listen to suggestions and are contstantly updating and improving the user experience here. Welcome aboard, and happy collecting.
As for finding out year of issue for cards without copyright info, there are plenty of collectors out there who were collecting when such issues were released, so they have that knowledge, and hopefully, someone wrote it on the web somewhere. :)
