Card Identification Forum

     Does anyone know the story of this card.  Year and who printed it.

The "Capital Reprint" at the bottom tells it was made by a company called "Capital" from a little Googling (which mostly gives links to Ebay auctions not any real info) I found a thread from a card forum that discusses reprints. According to one post the Capital company produced its reprint set in 1983.

I'm not sure if you're asking about the reprint or the original.

As far as the original, it's a Ty Cobb brand Tobacco back T-206 Ty Cobb reprint.  According to the 2012 Sports Collector's digest, an original would be much rarer than a T-206 Honus Wagner card.  The only discrepancy according to the SCD is that the Ty Cobb brand Tobacco back has only been found on the red-background Cobb portrait (not on the green one). 

As far as the reprint, it's from the colorful 1983 factory set box featuring a collage of T-206 images (not from the wood-grain factory set box).
