Card Identification Forum

This is something I've been wondering awhile now, back for Christmas this year of the year before I got The Sandlot 20th Anniversary Blu-ray and when I opened it up, surprisingly cards fell out. 

Specifically, a 10-card set with the guys (kids then), in the movie. I was just wondering if a set like this belongs here on the site?

I figured it would be a Non-Sport, released in 2013 (that's the copyright date on the cards, the movie came out in 1993).

Any help would be appreciated, like what to name it...The Sandlot - 20th Anniversary Inserts?

Since it is apparently okay to list unlicensed sets, this should be fine under the non-sport movie listing.

These cards were licensed. They came with the official DVD. I remember reading about them on either Cardboard Connection or one of the blogs, but I don't remember which one.

I don't see why they shouldn't be in the DB. I would just call them "2013 The Sandlot 20th Anniversary". While they were inserts in the DVD's, that was also the set package. They aren't inserts from another set or released in any other form.

I'd say they should be in the DB for sure. Out of the 100's of DVD's, Blu-rays, and VHS tapes I've bought over the years it's quite rare for cards to be included, even for a short time.

I recall getting a card from The Crow in a VHS release, a promo in Walking Dead Season 1 Blu-ray, some promos in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory DVD, and something like 9 cards in the Anchorman SE Blu-ray. That's about it.

Really wish it happened more often, certainly would cause me to buy some movies I may not otherwise would.

Yeah, I settled on "2013 The Sandlot - 20th Anniversary Blu-ray Inserts." The Blu-ray and DVD were packaged together, I don't think there was a stand alone DVD release, so apples and oranges. (It's comes in a Blu-ray case, ha-ha!)

Ooooooo.... I kinda want those. But then, I casually collect baseball cards for movie characters and actors (Major League, Bull Durham, Tom Selleck)
