When I was a kid I collected these cards that were in a red pack and the background of the cards were red. The characters on the cards were cartoons and each played some type of sport. They may have all played baseball I can't super remember. But I do remember one of the characters having like a cannon for an arm and was a pitcher and the card has a baseball firing out of it. The characters were super muscular and reminded me of the "big league chew" cartoons on the packaging. It also came with a card size piece of bubblegum in each pack. I'd say I got them sometime beteeeon1995-2000? Just wondering if anyone has any idea what they were.
Thanks!

Welcome to the Database.
Hmm when were you a kid? 60s? 70s? 80s? 90s? There have been oddball cartoon baseball cards for many years. Not sure about all the cards having red backgrounds. I recall the om tjhe 60s/70s there were The Fantastic OddRods and other Freaky type cards that were racing cards with weird and gross characters driving hotrod muscle cars and motorcycles. One of those series had pink/red backgrounds and many of them had plain white backgrounds.
With sports there are Baseball Super Freaks from 70s and also some from 1990s. The 70s also had The sports and baseball Weird-Ohs.
Oh Just saw your mention of them being around 1995-2000. Then I would lean toward the Awesome All-Stars and Greatest Grossouts.

Also sound a bit like the Fleer or Laughlin World Series cards.

Captkirk42 and Kaline6, thanks! Unfortunately I looked those up and they aren't it 😩
As ive looked I've came across old GI joe cards and they put me in mind of these cards. Man I wish I could explain them better.
The images were drawn well and the cards were glossy. Each "character" had a different "ability" or like gimmick to them. Like the cannon arm, etc
thanks!!!

Kaline6 I have looked EVERYWHERE for the cards I had and cannot find any whatsoever. I'm flying blind here haha. I've been looking for some time. I purchased them at a gas station down the road from my house. It may have been pretty generic and limited. But the cards were nicely done so I don't know. It's tough!

Ahhh jupiterhill, no it wasn't that one :/
the cards themselves were mostly a dark red other than the character on them. They were like steroided out cartoon dudes that represented a sport and something about them was like....mutated or like cyborg-ish haha
like pitcher with an arm that was a cannon. Kind of like mega man and it shot baseballs!

Were these real players or generic fictitious characters? The description reminds me a little of Metal Universe, if the players were real.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.
