Card Identification Forum

     Back in my boxes of who knows what.

I have a 4 panel card of Marshall Faulk that looks like different colored Printing Plates connected together. There is no card number that I can see on it but on the back it says " 1994 Football Draft Card Progressions ". It says it is made by Classic and is a Progressive Proof with a print run of 10000. There is supposed to be 2 others in the series. My question is it a real card and should it be in the Data Base?       Thanks for reading my rant...   Paul..

I remember some months back, maybe a year or two ago a similar question to this set/series of cards. Yes it is real (to the best of my knowledge) so it should be in the Database. Heck even some mass-produced very unlicensed "Broder" cards have made their way onto (into?) the database. 

The only cards that I think are NOT entered into the database are custom jobs.

Yeah, I remember this in the forum before. But I could find no info about them, not even an image. How were they released? In which product; Classic NFL Draft or Classic 4 Sport? Considering their size (I assume 3-1/2" x 10") they'd have to be inside a box not a pack. And it'd have to be an odd-sized (long) box. The checklist, apparently, is on the back; only 3 cards.

It might be possible that these were issued by the company outside of packs, as a promo for an upcoming set. I don't have any idea (I don't really know anything about football, but I always read every Mystery thread) but just thinking aloud.

They must have been in these boxes. The box measures approx. 12" x 6".

At the alleged print run of 10,000 each, you'd think they'd be easier to find.  I went ahead and ordered some old copies of the Standard Catalog of Football and Basketball to hopefully help answer some of these questions.  They should be here by the end of the week.
