Card Identification Forum

I have a few and I can't remember where I got them. Some of them just have the players name and "no current major league record" on the back. There is no card company name and this one says 1989 first half statistics but not sure if they were released in 89 or not.

This is an unlicensed card (not approved by Major League Baseball or the Major League Baseball Players Associattion), probably done by photographer Rob Broder, who did many such sets in the Boom Era of the late 1980's, when everyone was stashing away hundreds of cards as an investment.

Thanks for the info! I was way off. The design on the front of the card made me think it was made by Leaf. Thanks again.

Did Rob Broder also do cards for baskeball? I have a Michael Jordan card or two that looks almost the exact same on the back (with the correct statistics, of course) and even though I've had them since the mid-late 90s, I've never been able to figure out what the source of them was.

 While Broder primarily had access to baseball photos, it wouldn't surprise me if he or one of his cohorts did Jordan cards- there were plenty of other renegade card producers who were doing the same thing.
