I have one 1975 TCMA card of the Washington Senators 1924-25 and three 1974 TCMA cards of the St Louis Cards 1934 WS. Is there a checklist for these somewhere or am I simply missing it. Thanks

I did a google search for this and wow.. did I stumble apon something interesting (or at least I think its interesting).
I found both sets in a google book search that shows page previews of a book called "The Standard Catalog of VIntage Baseball Cards" by Bob Lemke.
The Senators set was a 42 card set. 39 regular size and 3 that were bigger. The book preview skips every other page so I could not get the details of the 74/34 Cards set.
But by "paging" through the book it appears there are dozens of TCMA sets from the 70s that have not been added to the database. It appears that there are lots of other older sets as well.
Im going to look for a cheap copy of the book and order it. Then will add these checklists to the database once I get it. The quick glance through looks to be over 50 sets that can be added. Maybe many more since the book claims 5000 sets from 1863-1981.

Hmm..
appears this book is published each year and is now authored by sports collectors digest. New one comes out next month. I wonder how I never heard of it before.

Bob Lemke was the head of Krausse Publications, who I do believe is the publisher of SCD. No surprise that they have the Guide now.
I guess here's as good a place as any to tell this story. About 2 years ago, my son and I got back into collecting (big time). I thought it would be a good idea to pick up one of the "Beckett Annuals" that had the alphabetical checklists in it. Figured I could use that to help figure out what's out there, what I had, etc. Figured that the latest edition would be pricy, and that if I could find one that was one or two years old, that would be ideal. So, off to Google-land for me. Found a few that would have worked well and were reasonably priced. A couple searches later, I was here. Free. WOW! Searchable. WOW!2 Teams listed also. WOW!3
I signed up and never did buy a book. Basically printed out checklists from here and made my own book!

I found the site by accident too while looking up info on some set I saw on ebay that I hadnt heard of. Never looked back :)
And your reason for now buying the book is exactly why I am gonna buy it. FIgure we want to get the database as complete as possible so adding these older sets we dont have listed already will be a good thing. And with baseball season ending ill have more free time to add checklists. During baseball season I do play-by-play of every Phillies game for a Phillies fan forum so 3+ hours of my days are going to be freed up as of next Sunday.

If anybody is interested in Bob Lemke himself, he has a blog:

I have the 2012 Beckett Almanac that has most of the odd ball sets it, (not much time to enter sets) what is the fasted way to enter sets in the database? The Senators set has 41 cards in it and set value (according to beckett is $25, Walter Johnson $4 high card in set.

There really isnt a quick way to enter a checklist. At bare minimum you have to type out the card number and name for everyone on the set. The system shows you can do that with as a text file.
I use excel with allows me to do card num, name, team and note so it doesnt have to be added later.

From http://www.baseballcardpedia.com/
TCMA, which stood for The Card Memorabilia Associates. Coincidentally, or perhaps not, the initials also stood for Tom Collier and Mike Aronstein, co-founders of TCMA.
BTW I did get that book. Will probably get the checklists up for these 2 sets over the weekend. rayfromtexas wrote: Speaking of TCMA, what does/did T C M A stand for? Anyone know?
