I'm trying to date this Steve Carlton wooden nickel. I know there was a 1980 set of these cards, but Carlton was not part of that set. The reverse of this card lists his lifetime wins & losses so it has to be after 1988. Does anyone know what date this card was produced ? Any info would be appreciated.

Was this an actual wooden nickel or card? I've looked and can't find anything. Is the 1980 set logged here at TCDB?

It's a card made of balsa wood and it's not listed here at TCDB. When I originally started this thread everything I could find was listed as 1980. I found this on Ebay today, listed as 1986, so maybe this Carlton is '86 as well? I'm not sure? Also found this Satchel Paige, but it's not dated.

Pretty impressive if they could predict he'd have exactly 6 wins in 1987 & 1988 and guess his correct career win total in 1986 ;)

Correct lol....
That is how I know it must be after '88, but cannot find a correct date.

One off collectible, not a trading card.
Catalogue it with my Pete Rose pocket-knife.

Understood, but I would still like to date it.

Yeah, after looking at that lot I agree with Dan that it's a collectible and probably unlicensed. Interesting to me is that I bought my '39 Goudey from them. They're just north of where I live. I may go visit them and find out about the "set".
