We didn't have any weather here in my part of the world. I was outside much of the day. My friend in Detroit got 8 inches of snow a couple days ago. Unless he was exaggerating. I never watch the news or the weather so I get most of my information from these forums. I didn't know anything about east coast storms. I did know about Mount St. Helens though. Somebody mentioned that earlier, but I already knew.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Back in 2010 when we lost power for three days we actually buried the milk outside in the snow...worked for a little bit but then got too warm.
Unfortunately our fridge is starting to go... planning to go look for a new one later. It was built in 1982 and we've had it since 1987, it was originally my great-grandfathers. I kind of suspected it might have been going for a little while now...if I had the space I'd keep it and use it for storage. I noticed Thursday night that the water wasn't as cold as it should be but figured one of my family members must have just put it in, but nope.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. Sounds like everyone made it through the bad weather which is good. Here just west of Pittsburgh we had sun and just a bit windy so we got off easy.

Just got into work (White Plains, NY, Westchester County). I'm hearing a lot of people talking about how they lost power, and several saying they are still without power (but have generators). One of my co-workers is in a hotel in NJ and they aren't expected to get their power restored until Friday. (She has a pre-schooler.)
Up where I live (near Billy and JimmyMac), we had no issues. Tough effort on Friday shoveling (back and arms still ache), it was like moving cement. 3 inches of cement. But thankfully, no power issues. But I know there were a lot of small outages in my region. The local power company has been very busy attempting to restore power to as many people as possible as quickly as possible. I just looked at the outage map. There are still hundreds of isolated outages.
And there seems to be some possibility for more snow on Tuesday night into Wednesday in my area.

We have rain in the forecast, and the wind still hasn’t left. Still almost 100,000 without power in my area, but fortunately, we still have it.

Get prepared guys! Another one is coming later this week. It's supposed to rain here most of the day Tuesday and once it hits the ocean on Wednesday, it'll turn into another nor'easter! Get ready for more rough weather Thursday/Friday. I don't know if it'll be worse, about the same or less of an impact than the last one, but keep an eye on the weather.
The main issue here will be the cold air coming in behind the front and low pressure system. We'll probably have a freeze warning come out on Wednesday b/c the low temp is supposed to drop around or below freezing Thursday and Friday mornings. That could be a big problem b/c lots of trees and plants are already blooming or sprouting. It's been well above average temperature for the past few weeks here. I even wore shorts to work twice in February. That pretty much NEVER happens in February! Usually a couple times in mid or late March, but not February.

We're prepping about 6-9 inches of snow in our area for wednesday, with the possibility of another one hitting this weekend (not sure if that will be a rain or a snow event yet). Hopefully, this one isn't as heavy and the snowblower will work on it. We'll see.

Yeah, there is now a chance of snow here in NC on Sunday! It's not supposed to be any actual accumulation, but we'll see. It did rain pretty much all day Tuesday and it was in the 30's all day too. That's a big change from the past couple of weeks, at least for the temperature. Rain has been quite consistent the past couple of weeks!
It really seems like Mother Nature skipped a month around here somehow! December was more like January, Jan. was more like February, and Feb. was more like March. Now that we are in March, the weather is about what it should be, except that the plants are sprouting and/or blooming about a month early. This could be bad for berries of most types (esp. blueberries and strawberries) and tree-fruits (like pears, apples and oranges). Get your berries and tree fruits before the price jumps up, especially in the Northeast US! Even the ones from the Southwest US will jump in price if we get a hard freeze in the Southeast US. If the trees bloom and then freeze, nothing will propagate from those blooms!!! I have a real pear tree and have gotten nothing from it for several years now. They only produce every 2-3 years, but if they bloom early and then get a freeze, they won't do anything that year anyway. What little fruit they produce will be stolen by the squirrels before they are worth harvesting for humans. I'd have better luck trying to get the walnuts in Fall before the squirrels get to those too.
