Holy wow what a way to celebrate Spring Week !!! 12 hrs in on a good ol spring blizzard. Snow and 90km/hr winds, trees snapping off and drifts galore. Am at home in my cozy cave with a coffee, did what HAD to be done and came back home. Will take the time to enjoy some news ..... then I got crappy work waiting for me in the shop!! LOL ........ like I could hide from work. =/

We had that white stuff here on Tuesday night into Wednesday. Had the day off and used our last built-in snow day.

I have never actually experienced real snowfall. In 1998, I saw snow falling for the first and only time but it melted the second it hit the ground. My brother moved to Connecticut a couple months ago- I hope he is still alive.

Haha yup a haboob. Giant wall of dust before a summer thunderstorm. I usually don't have to deal with those though because I live in the northern part of the city. There is a lot of loose desert dirt to the south of the city, and that's where it all usually rolls in from. Once it actually hits the city it starts to break up pretty fast.
The thunderstorms can really cause a mess and be dangerous though because they come out of nowhere and Phoenix really has a terrible drainage system. I don't think they care to spend the money on something like that when it doesn't really rain much. But in the summer, just a few inches of rain can cause big problems.
Monsoon season of 2014 was particularly bad, and I somehow found myself driving in the middle of a macroburst one night, and also in the middle of two other pretty big storms. Honestly made me scared to drive in the rain for a long time.
Here's some fun photos from that year I found:

Anyways, this is all pretty tame though I am sure to most people elsewhere. I am just not used to much other than hot sunny days.

I remember the 2014 one, lots of homeless died if I remember correctly. Sleeping in the runoff basins. And if I remember correctly I watched a special about the concrete highways (streets maybe) they are building one section at a time. Roadway sits premade ontop of a rectagular tunnel for drainage, one stop shop and its done. Is that correct? May have been somewhere else. Yeah even with the haboob coming in, your city still looks WAY more inviting than mine! ROFL

I generally love snow but I have had enough for the season, I'm ready for spring. I never thought I would ever say that. I've never felt this way before. It's weird because 99% of the time, I don't feel good enough to leave the house anyway so it doesn't much matter what's going on outside. But I want to see green grass, summer birds, etc.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. I never heard of a haboob .

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

The town I live in right next to Boston Mass had a snow day yesterday. And no snow showed up. They expected 12", then 6" to 8" then a dusting. And nada !
