Hi,
By now I'm sure you have seen my "Miss T" profile. As a soon to be HS Junior, we are looking around at colleges. She is not quite sure of what field of study yet, but she is sure about playing softball, and going to college south of NJ and way east of the MISSISSIPPI lol. Probably along the I95 corridor.
Do you have suggestions? Any good schools in your vicinity? She likes warmth, also likes to be near the beach [ya know those Jersey Girls, lol]. She would prefer D1 but D2 or D3 is a good possibility as well, No CC, she could stay here for that.
Does anybody have any college connections, admissions, ADs or coaches that might be interested? She has been contacted by @60 colleges thru a site we have access to but they cannot talk directly to her until her Jr. year.
Anything would be helpful, Thanks, ~BOB~

No connections here that I know of. I would like to suggest Monmouth or Rutgers. That would alleviate and feelings of home sickness and Monmouth does have the beach.

Might want to check out where I-95 begins (or ends, depending on your feelings) with the U of Miami or anywhere in FL. The good thing about there (especially as far south as Miami) is year-round ability to play. Plus, if I recall, they have a pretty good team. I don't have any connections anywhere, especially since it's been so long since I was in school.

Yes, I would love her to stay in Jersey, I can save some buckeroos that way.
However, I will have her check out:
Southern Conference sounds interesting, Univ of Miami or Fla Ste, she would love but not sure she has all the academic or athletic credentials. UCF looks interesting too.
Thanks all, keep any suggestions coming.

I'm only familiar with high school football recruiting, if you want to get noticed you have to go to camps. Not sure if softball has the same type of camps. Having film is also pretty important so you can send to coaches.
Does she pitch on her high school team? Is the head coach competent? They should be doing some leg work.

Yes, she does pitch, Varsity and 18u Travelball. She has played in Showcase Tournaments, and has had offers a plenty for camps. She does have a few she would like to attend.
Hmmmm competent coach, not as competant as most parents would like. We shall see about "legwork", as she starts her Jr. year.
Thanks, ~Bob

How about the U.S. Naval Academy? They don't have an NCAA team, but have a very competitivie collegiate club team. Top education and a guaranteed job after graduation.
