Well folks I am back, and I'm toasty ..... as in my tan!! Had a fantastic 8 days all in all, some bumps in the road but that was a case of kids stuck in bush for 14 days. Hahaha. My boy made me SO proud this year he banged off not one but two levels of swimming lessons. 100% both times. Also bought him a kayak and at just over seven he figured it out in less than 20 minutes and could go from one end of swimming area to the other. Maybe I got an olympic rower insted of a Cup winner. LOL As you can see by my profile pic he was pretty pumped. =)

Spaz, are you the guy with the downhill skis who landed in Toronto one July 4th and asked the directions to the nearest ski resort? Don'tlaugh, it has happened. I once received a phone call from a USAF pilot who was posted on exchange to our squadron. He was coming in July and asked what clothing he should bring. Once I stopped laughing....

:D That's pretty funny. NO, it wasn't me! For one thing, I don't ski and for another, I've never been to Toronto. I've been in Canada once and that was only for a few hours in Niagara-on-the-Falls, ONT in September. The weather was actually really nice then. If I did want to try skiing, I'd do it in January or February and I'd only have to drive about 4 hours to get deep into the Appalachian Mountains.

Thanks and yes I concede I was just as pumped, if not more, success breeds self-confidence more than we know. His mother did not want him going two levels as she felt he needed more fun time. I said what could be more fun than doing something your good at. I did not pressure him, it was his decision and I am glad he chose to try. I would not have been upset if he chose not to. =) As for the tanning thing, we had three days 28+ C and with humidex the one day felt like 35. Nice and toasty, like Isaid to my wife Jamaica weather. Perfect.

We use Fahrenheit here in the States, not Celsius. So I'll translate - 28C is 82F and humidex of 35C is a Heat Index of about 96F. I wish we could get DOWN to 82F and stay there. It was 82F on Sunday, but it's been in the upper-80s to upper-90's (30C to 38C) for a couple of weeks here in NC now. At least the humidity dropped a bunch on Sunday, so that helps deal with the high temps better. Last week was over 90F every day with humidity pushing the heat index up over 100F. Those are the days where you pray for rain JUST so the clouds will block the sun! Great days for swimming though, IF you can get to a pool, pond, lake, etc.. This time of year makes me really glad that I work in the evening.

LOL, thanks Billy. My sister was in Las Vegas during that 45C (F???) stuff a few weeks back, said they couldnt even go outside let alone use the pool. Their flight got canceled due to the heat. UGH. I'll keep my 82F spaz, like vrooomed said it IS the GWN after all. =D
