i know we have non-sports collectors, but the majority of forum-users collect sports cards, logically making you sports fans, so I wonder what was the last sporting event you went to?  Live sports is my passion, and card collecting is an extension of that.  I'm just curious to get a general idea of where you all go for your sports fix. Please list only your latest, but update us if you go to another. And tell a little about it if you like.

Me--last was Eastern Illinois men's soccer vs St. Francis (IL) last Sunday afternoon.  EIU won 1-0 despite a St Francis player getting sent off about 20 minutes in.  Six games into the season without a loss. Admission was free, and the weather was perfect.  Great day.

I went to a Seattle Mariners game maybe two months ago.  It was Edgar Martinzez Bobblehead night.  I can't remember if they won or lost but frankly, who cares with this team

The PGA Tour FedEx Cup playoff at TPC Boston, 30 Aug - 4 Sep. Stayed with my buddy in New Hampshire and we drove to TPC each day. Two free tickets, each day, for military vets. Plus a Birdies for the Brave Patriots pavillion on the 17th tee. Free snacks, lunch and beverages. They only thing we had to pay for was parking. Got to meet Matt Kuchar.

The last professional sporting event I attended was the Brewers game against the Nationals on Sept 2 at Miller Park.  The Crew lost it later in the game which was a bummer, but was very nice to attend a game with my Dad and my Son.

Counting professional sports only, my girlfriend and I attended the Cardinals-Rays game in St. Louis a few weeks ago on the Friday night of players weekend. Free tickets made it a win automatically, and the giveaway was a mystery Hall of Fame manager. I got La Russa and she got Joe Torre, for those wondering. 

Anahiem Ducks vs.Ottawa Senators in Ottawa while visiting my daughter and family in the Ottawa area.

Game 6 of lthe Western Conference playoffs between the Jazz and the Clippers. It actually makes me sad that the last live sporting event I went to was back in April. Bad year at work.

I guess I have been to my son's baseball games but machine pitch probably doesn't qualify.

Just this past Wednesday night (9/13/17), saw the first game of the New York-Penn League (Class A, short season, denoted in many places as "A-") championship series between the Vermont Lake Monsters and the home team Hudson Valley Renegades. HV won game 1 in 13 innings, and went on to win game two (6-0) in Vermont to win the championship. (Their 3rd, the other 2 were won at home and I was there for both - 1999 and 2012.)

The stadium is about a mile away, so we go there as often as we have time.

Couldn't decide if I should start a new topic here or just add to this one.  Switzr1 post got me wondering....

One of the things I enjoy about cards, is cataloging/indexing/stats/records/etc.  

Does anyone else here use the Sports Passport App when attending events or the MLB Passports Book to record the live sporting events they have attended?

I wish I had information on all the games I had attended over the years.  I was able to find a handful of old ticket stubs which I entered into the Sports Passport App a while back along with games I knew I attended in the past couple years.  (Unrelated, Is it even possible to get a ticket stub anymore!?!) I kind of like the stats the App gives you back on sporting events you mark that you have seen in person.  Here are a couple of my highlights/lowlights as per the App:

PLAYERS I HAVE SEEN PLAY (ALL SPORTS):  1,002    

BREWERS W/L RECORD IN PERSON:  19-30 when I have attended.  Ouch - maybe I should watch on TV.  

PLAYER WITH MOST HR'S:  Jeromy Burnitz (8) 

BATTER WITH THE MOST STRIKEOUTS:  Jeromy Burnitz (25)  Well that does make sense - I seem to remember he either hit a homerun or struckout

BATTER WITH THE MOST HITS:  Jeff Cirillo (50)

PITCHER WITH THE MOST INNINGS:  Scott Karl (45)

PITCHER WITH THE MOST WINS:  Orel Hershiser (3)

That's a few of the stats the App populates for you on a player by player basis when you mark a given game as attended.  As mentioned I wish I knew all the games I went to in the past to put in here, but still pretty nifty for free.

I also have a MLB Passport book for stamping games when I go to the stadiums which is nice, but all the information there you do have to hand tabulate.

Last pro game was September 8th AA playoffs between the Baysox and Altoona. The Baysox lost again on the way to a three game sweep. The last game period was yesterday. High school football between North County and Northeast. Northeast beat my Knights 33-32.
