If you're a fan and might have missed it, All Star voting started today on the league website and app. After today they are taking it back down until Christmas, i think. And this year's game won't be east vs west. Going to an NFL format where the players are picked, then assigned to teams via a fantasy draft. This might be the year a team finally scores 200. The west went over 190 a couple years ago, if I remember right.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I figured Lebron told Silver he didn't want Kyrie on his team, so this was done for him.

Ditto! I don't vote for NBA anyway (I'd only skew results for personal preference and no real knowledge of the players), but this is the same reason that I no longer vote for the NFL Pro Bowl! It's completely ridiculous now. What the hell is the point? Let the fans pick players and some random "coach" pick teams from those players and charge fans a bunch of money to see it live and some network a bunch of money to air it. MONEY doesn't rule everything! You can't make money off something no one wants to see!
The NBA and NFL should just drop the AS Game and Pro Bowl respectively and just give All-Pro Awards. They already give the awards, but let the fan vote count towards that instead of a pointless game where someone could get hurt. The Pro Bowl used to be interesting b/c it was the only game a week before the Super Bowl and had the best players (that weren't in the SB). Then they changed the rules to almost a no-contact affair. Then they started moving the game to other places and then they did the "Coach-pick" crap that didn't even involve a real coach, just former players pretending to be a coach. I'd rather watch an Arena Football game! MLB started giving home-field advantage in the WS to the League that won the AS Game and I thought that was stupid too. I'm glad they stopped that this year. The NBA has always had more entertainment for All-Star Weekend with the various contests, but now the only one worth watching is the 3-point Shootout (IMO). The MLB's Home-Run Derby is just crap now b/c of the constant rule changes and the fact that most of the big-hitters don't want to do it anymore, so the only part of their weekend festivities that I really enjoy these days is the Celebrities vs. former players game. Sorry for the rant but I'm done now.

That WOULD be funny and I would totally watch that to see if he includes his "teammates" or if they just keep the ball away from him!

Just as a matter of preference, I do not do NBA, NFL or NHL AS voting.

My friend and I are already making plans to go to the 2021 ASG in Indianapolis. Of course, we say that before we see the ticket price, but we have three years to start saving our money!
I, for one, enjoy the ridiculousness of recent All Star Game scores. I was so mad when the west started double teaming PG13 a couple years ago so he couldn't break Wilt's scoring record, then pretended they didn't know about it. I was actually concerned that, by splitting teammates up, the scoring might decline. I want a 200 point game! I don't watch the NFL Pro Bowl. The new NHL format was fun last year. I have no need of the MLS ASG. But baseball is my favorite, by a landslide. I watched in a restaurant in southwest Pennsylvania last year, and was talking to the waitress when Yadi hit his home run. So disappointed I missed it and looked up to see him running the bases.
