88 years old - God bless him, what a great life and career! Nearly 1700 games just with the Red Wings, 23x All-Star, and namesake of the goal-assist-fight "Gordie Howe hat-trick." May #9 rest-in-peace.

He was hockey for a whole generation of kids. Loved watching his son Mark in Philly. RIP

Last two years have been tough on athletes. The MLB and NBA lost retired players to heart attack in the week between Muhammad Ali's death and Gordie Howe's today as well.

This really has been a rough week or so for sports fans! At least Ali and Howe got to live long lives after their retirement and touch the lives of so many more individuals in those years. They'll never be forgotten!

Being in Saskatoon it's been on the air and on tv for the whole day. Been a tough month for angels wings as far as I can say. RIP Mr. Hockey, lace em up and take shots on my pops if you ever get the chance. He always loved stopping a good slap shot on weekend practices. Even if it was wearing Sears catalogs as leg pads and a back catchers mask!! Had to love the good ol days!!
