Alonzo Mourning Forum

I noticed that there are two rookies for Alonzo Mourning in the base set of 92-93 Ultra.  

Card # 193 was released in series 1 and has a "RC" indicator

Card #234 was released in series 2 but has no "RC" indicator.

In situations like this, is the first one released in that set the only one considered a rookie card, or should the other card also have "RC" listed?

The first one in the set is the true RC card. The second one is not a RC. The 2nd one is also in the second series of the release. There are several cards in the second half of the set that are not RC cards because the players also had a card in the first series.

Cool thanks for the information.  Kind of surprising actually that they released an Alonzo Mourning in Series 1 but didn't release a Shaquille O'neal until Series 2.

Shaq had an exclusive deal with Classic. That's why his #1 in Upper Deck was a redemption also. I personally count both as rookies myself, even though Beckett has decreed otherwise. 

I wasn't aware of Shaq's exclusive contract at the time.  Thanks for the history.  I have only been on this site for a little while but you seem to always have the basketball card answers Billy.

Thanks😁 I spend most of my time either watching, reading or writing about basketball or working with my cards so I guess it just kind of sticks after all these years, lol
